The long foot c and c# keys
Hi, it appears it’s more common for moderns makers to not provide the option of the C and C# keys on the long foot. I’m looking for a new keyed flute, preferably with C and C# keys since I like to play tunes in D minor, C maj etc and allows for more options with improvising with another instrument i...

C natural springy thingy
Hey all, this is a little hard to describe, but i hope it's clear, lately i've been noticing that a metal 'springy' bit of my C natural key keeps on slipping down (that piece of metal below the key itself which acts as a spring to hold the key in place). that bit of metal would normally sit still in...

uh sound
i use glottal stops to articulate a lot, and a friend of mine remarked that when i play , sometimes i make this 'uh' sound, and she looked at me weirdly, and asked if that was normal :-? i didn't know what she was talking about, until later, after recording myself on a her high-def audio recorder, i...

Re: Tipple Low C Flute in Singapore

Re: removing that musty smell
i actually came across some multi purpose spray deodouriser thing in a computer shop the other day. apparently is was 'super alkaline water' or something like that, that was ionized, mostly for laptop/computer surfaces, but the brochure said you could use it on shoes, carpets , even your face! don't...

Re: Why to the right?
here's another one.. so that we can tune the instrument with the right hand while playing A, (left hand holds the flute still, right hand adjusts the tuning slide)

Re: Praises to Casey Burns!
Yes, I know there's 9,000 of these threads, but none where I have given my personal praise to a maker. I was excited to try it out, since I'm wanting a folk flute and I've read on the site that Casey puts the same QA into the folk flutes as he does the higher-end flutes. Do it! Buy that FF! I just ...

a little lonely
coming from malaysia where hardly anyone plays itm, let alone know what it sounds like can be a little isolating at times. wish i knew more people who play flute than the very few that i've met occasionally, passing by on a visit. was luckly enough to be part of a semi-regular small session, but sin...

Re: delrin/polymer
I think I probably squeeze too hard on any unfamiliar flute. If you are used to playing the Folkflute with a light touch, just enough to seal each of your particular fingers, could you have been squeezing too hard on the Seery because the 'fit' was different ? My Folkflute has a chamfer on the edge...

delrin/polymer
a few posts ago, i broke my flute, that has got me thinking, to get a delrin/polymer one in the near future , but what concerns me is mostly the weight of it, cause i hear it's a heavier material than wood, also, this just a minor observation, i had the chance to try out a seery sometime back, and n...
