Re: Tunable whistle in the key of A recommendations?

PS: If you think a Goldie whistle is too expencive, maybe you don't deserve one anyway.

Re: Tunable whistle in the key of A recommendations?

Take a Goldie Overton! They are NOT too expencive. Just look at the quality and the craftmanship. AND the customer support.

Goldie Overtons

Hi all As I may have mentioned before (when I was here last about a hundred years ago) I work at a music store and we now have Overton Whistles from Colin Goldie. Selling Colins Whistles is just pure joy! The best bit is, of course, receiving a new shipment. It's always a bit like Christmas. All tho...

Well, I think this is really the point. A lot of us, me included, take some of the high end whistle "brands" out there for granted. But they're not. Most makers do their job because of their love for it. But when one of 'em ever gets in a situation where he really needs cash, he may not b...

I really think these guys must just love making whistles, and I doubt many of them are exceptionally well-off from whistle making alone. Jason Well, I think this is really the point. A lot of us, me included, take some of the high end whistle "brands" out there for granted. But they're no...

I'd be willing to pay 50% over list for the bargain known as a Gen Bb. I would choose a lower percentage for a Burke, in spite of the fact that I like the Burke better than the Gen. It's about handmade high end whistles. So it's about the likes of Burke, Overton, Abell etc (those are just the fist ...

Personally I like it, when one can see, that a whistle has been played and has seen the world, so I keep cleaning to a minimum. But the question is: What do YOU like?

Are we a bunch of cheap folk?

Lately I have been talking to a couple of whistle and Flute makers. There's two things that they all say: I have so many orders that I can hardly keep up with them. I make so little money out of this that it's difficult to make a living of it and I might eventually have to get a dayjob. This leads m...

(bleep) THAT VISTA sh*t!!!!! I am only using it because it came with my computer and I don't know how to change it. It's a complete pain in the ass!!!! Now that I finally learned all the cool functions of Word, everything changed! And my very cool homerecording hardware doesn't work with it either. ...
