FS: LeJeune C Flute
Blackwood, three keys, Eb, C, and G#. Short foot and a long foot with the Eb key. A fabulous sounding instrument but it's big. Big bore, big stretch in left hand. Consequently my left hand ring finger gets stressed out after playing for awhile. I have medium size hands and believe this flute will on...

FS: Ian Lambe Low D whistle

As has been said before, lovely second octave and third octave, low breath requirement, sweet sound with just a hint of chiff, medium in volume. Not a banjo killer by any means but a ...

Re: WTT Olwell keyless blackwood pratten style flute for Wilkes
It is significantly easier for a novice to get a decent sound out of Olwell than a Wilkes. A Wilkes demands a really good embouchure. Don't do it.

Simple fix. Teflon tape on the tenon. Never leave home without it.

Rare three piece brass Copeland Low D with super protective leather roll-up pouch. No worries with this instrument. Extremely portable and fabulous sound. Asking price of $1000 or $800 with the addition of a Burke Viper or an MK. See pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/CB7x7

Re: Posture, bent left wrist, and numbness
Look at your bottom hand elbow compared to the rest of the pics of folks holding the flute. It throws off your shoulders and everything follows. Overall the top hand looks too rigid and kinda tense.

Re: Kathleen Conneely album
You are not going to get who Kathleen is by listening to a 10 second sound sample. The reason why people like Martin Hayes, Kevin Crawford, Jimmy Noonan, John Skelton and many more active working Irish musicians adore her playing is because she is remarkably inventive throughout a tune. Her phrasing...

Re: Molloy and Galway
What sir Jimmy left out was that he was an orange man and learned to play flute via the fife, as did his dad and grandad. It's nice to see that as the program progressed, the music won out and that initial tension passed.
