Re: Odd request: help figuring out notes, please

You are AMAZING!! THANK YOU! I can't get the change tempo feature to work to be able to slow it down. The note on -sok is the one that's really throwing me and that children's video is the only one that goes up there like it does. My voice doesn't do that! lol Here's another one with a child singing...

Odd request: help figuring out notes, please

Hello, hello! Being so pathetically inept in all things music as I am, and unable to carry a tune in a bucket, I'm a little lost and I am hoping that some very kind soul will be able to help. I'm going to be telling a story in which I attempt to sing a couple lines from a Russian folk song. I want t...

Re: I'm back and beginning again (was Midi file recommendations)

I didn't get a notice until just now for the replies. I'm working on bending the upper hand. I'll get to notes, downloads, links, etc this weekend and maybe be able to put up a new video.

THANKS!

Re: Where's my avatar? (Never mind..found the link to re-submit)

I see everyone's. And I saw one next to everyone earlier, too.

How mysterious. :-?

I am playing left. Someone (maybe you?) tried to get me to change it early on and I tried, but my brain doesn't seem to be wired the other way.

It was asked several times early on if you get three times as good a whistle for paying three times as much. I don't think of the pricing as standard intervals of $5 a piece all the way up the scale where 1 unit of value is equal to $1, so something costing three times as much must be three times as...

Wow. The first tip is essentially "always play in Edorian". Interesting. I wonder how he managed to get the reverb only on the whistle and not on his voice. Didn't look like 2 mics. Maybe in postproduction... It says at the end that he uses a Boss RV-5 digital reverb pedal with a Crate ta...

Of course, free is not always ideal, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69vw-QTyHpQ That's who I got the midi from! http://www.belfaganmorris.free-online.co.uk/music/monas.mid The recording I have is on the harp, and it is the one for sale here: http://www.classicsonline.com/catalogue/prod...

OK. I'm reading and re-reading to take it all in. 1. I'll practice my scales and arpeggios. :) Thanks for the recommended song, Jem! 2. I would like to learn music notation, so I'll use it when learning a tune. 3. I also like to play by memory, so I'll practice a piece I already learned that way. 4....

OK. :) I can "translate" the scored music by saying "Every Good Boy Does Fine" on each note and making it a letter, but I don't yet know which letter corresponds with which holes, so I then make the letter into numbers by consulting an illustrated chart. I figured by ear and with...

OK. I'm willing to learn. It isn't easy to re-learn, but it will only get harder later on. Is standard notation different from "real music" as in 5-line scores? I know it is basic, but I want to make sure I'm on the same page from the start. I'd forgotten that TheSession has Midis. I regul...

I'm back and beginning again (was Midi file recommendations)

Hello all! I've been away for quite some time attending to family affairs. I've been really missing learning to whistle and have now gotten back to it. I'm teaching myself Mona's Delight right now and the little is doing MUCH better with Twinkle, Twinkle. In the mean time, I've lost all my midis wit...

I have been away for a while, but I couldn't resist an entire forum dedicated to hummus recipes! I strongly recommend against the store packaged artichoke and garlic variety--just awful. Hummus is a food group of its own around here. I also like the cumin variety, but the rest of the household goes ...
