Get her a Freeman tweaked Mellow Dog, two whistle body (a D and a C) one head, looks like cheap whistles but crucially plays like expensive ones... £30 from http://www.bigwhistle.co.uk

I use this as 'putty'!" It works great!

Does the word "sinitarra" mean anything to you?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have only ever played this and my plastic Dixon one piece low D. The tone is fuller, slightly less pure and more chiffy. The backpressure is much higher than on my Dixon which has hardly any. The volume is much louder than my quiet Dixon. I wish I had other low ...

Ok. Fixed the links, see below; they aren't very good, but I am still enjoying my new low whistle.

I got my Alba Q1 Low D Vibe whistle this morning! It plays just yummy after having a cup of tea and some toast. It is a completely different whistle to my Dixon one piece plastic Low D which I am happy about. Much better all round. Sound clips (some notes, not tunes.. sorry I'm just not good enough ...

I have a Jerry Freeman tweaked Mellow Dog, and its my favourite whistle. It plays well throughout both octaves. There are arguably better whistles for easy playing of the 2nd octave B, A, G, like a Dixon Trad, but I find the trad too weak in the first octave for my taste. Also the tone of the trad l...

Yes I just watched that. That is the regular Low D from Alba. 'Tis the more recent Q1 I am wondering about. Especially about its breath requirements and back pressure. I have a Plastic Dixon one piece Low D which is almost too easy to play. It jumps into the second octave far too easily for my likin...

Alba Q1 Low D

Hi, I would like to hear your opinions on this whistle because I am thinking about ordering one. Any sound clips of scales and tunes would be helpful to make sure I would be making the right decision. What does this whistle sound like? How easy is it to play? How much wind and back pressure does it ...

This is Welsh pop sensation Gruff Rhys performing Gwn Mi Wn on his own using his voice and looping equipment only. It takes longer to get going than the links posted by other people and really starts about 3:10 in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKklrhVlcAY Also I would like to take this opportunity...

Sorry for wasting your time Mary, I researched it too quickly and misread an article I found. You can get audacity working in 64bit by compiling the latest CVS code yourself. This was mentioned in an article about a sound orientated Linux distribution. I assumed as I was skim reading the article tha...

I am learning on a Dixon one piece Polymer Low D.

I am very happy with it, only it breaks into the second octave almost too easily.

An affordable whistle with a great tone.

Wanted to play, on low D whistle: Annie's Song

As an avid Sheffield United supporter, I would like to learn the clubs unofficial theme: The Greasy Chip Butty Song. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Greasy_Chip_Butty_Song This is to the tune of Annie's Song by John Denver also famously played on flute by Sir James Galway. I don't know how to write...
