I've got a Chickering grand piano, my uilleann pipes, a couple modest (but great) Generation whistles, mandolin, hohner mouth harps, a gorgeous little 26 string Fisher harp, hand carved Québécois wooden spoons, and a few other doodads. It's taken years to acc...

Not sure what kind of pipes you're referring to (there are quite a number:-) ), however, uilleann pipers in a group of other musicians usually have concert pitch which is key of D. This is certainly the most common, however there are many pipers with B, C and C# and occassionally the odd Bb, but gen...

I'm feeling compelled to remark. 20K to 25K is a whole lot of dough to spend on an instrument. I'm very certain that there are other instrument sthat can garner such a price. Classic violins, a resaonably nice grand piano, few of a kind guitars, &c... This is an opportunity for someone to purcha...

Me = amateur
You = experts

My Generation C + enormous amounts of air to make second octave solid = loud

Is this equation accurate or is it my whistle (or me) that is in error;) BTW, this is not an issue with my Generation D - which is quite an effortless beauty.

I noticed that the email has a period after com - delete the period and then try it.

A geek like me notices those things;-)

I just did a test and it worked okay.

Is there a deadline for entries, and when might the "end" be in view? :smile: Don't mean to be hasty but the edge of my seat is getting worn thin.

Makes me think of those small cigar humidors - they actually have a gauge inside them so you can balance the humidity levels. So after your reeds dry out you could enjoy a puff or two;-) I remember trying a similar method with ziploc baggies - but after a week or so, the contents (a piece of wood) s...
