Not sure where to ask this... (Help!)

Hiyo, I'm having, erm, , serious issues in this sight-singing class I'm taking. I know, I know, not about whistles. Well, it sort of is. I've always picked up tunes by ear, see, and struggled through the sheet music after words. And now I've enrolled in this sight-singing class--utterly deter...

RE #4 - It takes about 20 minutes to teach someone how to transpose. Its the simplest thing to do once you know what you're looking at.

Well...

The advantage of a recorder is that you can (with a C recorder) play in D with mostly the same fingerings, give or take a few depending on the make and model, as the pennywhislte--still do all the embellishments--AND have very easy fingerings for spot-on sharps and flats. The disadvantage is that it...

I'll have to try that. Thanks. :)

Re: Anyone feeling dizi?

A customer asked me if I would drill an extra hole between the embouchure hole and the first finger hole in my low D Irish flute in pvc in order for him to play it as a dizi. I said that I would give it a try. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dizi http://www.fournotes.com/asia/china/dizi.php Here is a ...

Attacking the Low C/ C# D / D# / E from any note above A

Hey all, I'm still making vast improvements in my flute playing, and I'm starting to get this "Right Handed" business down a bit better. (I can play both ways, but it gets confusing) -- I have a VERY frustrating problem. Well, two. The first is that I can't seem to do anything to get my fl...

Be damn careful who you take advice from. ITM and whistling has a HUGE middle ground between total neophyte and Master. A lot of the people in the middle ground (like me) know just enough about both subjects to be dangerous. :)

Upgrading. (Crans!!!)

I've finally got my rolls, cuts, and taps down pat. They're crisp. They're in the rhythm of the tunes I play, mostly.

I want to learn how to cran.

Can someone direct me to a good learning spot? Or suggest a good book?

Thanks. :)
