South Dakota session

I'm told that there's a session in Spearfish this Sunday night. Anyone in the Hills want to join me?

Wow!! Congratulations for that acquisition, it looks very beautiful, and I loved the way you played it. Muchas Gracias. I debated upon whether adding one of my sound clips would make the flute more OR less attractive ;) I recorded it on my handheld pocket pc, so that was two strikes against. Still,...

Sure, there's always room for new pictures:

I'm glad you like it, Loren. Hammy is actually the one that started trying snakewood. I just encouraged him to try one for me :) It will be unlikely that I ever part with it, but I'll put you on the list.

Liney Bear,

The picture doesn't do the end cap justice. It has a nice little silver inlay that is very attractive.

Thanks... I'm glad that you all like it.

Alan, I know what you mean about grain, but this seems to be just the right size/flavor that it works for me.

New flute - image resized for the monitor impared

Hi Ya'll, I know that it's been a while... hope everyone is doing well. I just had to share this photo of my new flute. It is fairly unique - made from snakewood. It's a long story, but I was visiting with Hammy and the result is this flute. Snakewood is NOT a great wood to build a flute out of beca...

I haven't noticed anyone else mention it, so there's a good book called "Temperament". It's really quite a good read: http://www.amazon.com/Temperament-Became-Battleground-Western-Civilization/dp/0375703306/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-6990330-1940437?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189997288&sr=8...

I like the Sunset Reel played slowly. Any speed really. That would work nicely. Oh, and how about Hector the Hero.

Lunasa tonight.

I just got back from a Lunasa concert. What a fabulous time and Kevin was hilarious! Played a mean whistle, too, of course. If they come your way, make sure that you see them. I also picked up a copy of their book. It's really nice with some good tunes in it. Unfortunately they're on a nasty schedul...
