Re: CP: Campaign launched! World needs affordable GREAT whistles

As a wanna-be Whistle player who found this site several years ago, picked up some common whistles, tried some basic tweaking (successfully) then eventually got involved in the bass guitar, I just popped on C&F (shhh, from work) and found this thread. Had a few dollars in the PP account so I chi...

Re: Travel case ideas for Clare Two-Piece?

Yes, you are right of course about the pocket but on a long flight I'd rather have it in the carry-on ad I can just imagine it getting bent if not in something stiff. Also to avoid the question "Is that a whistle in your pocket or are you glad to see me?" The dart cases are promising, I us...

Re: Travel case ideas for Clare Two-Piece?

Thanks, those are some ideas I had not thought of. I did come up with something that will work unless I find something better. I looked around my boxes 'o junk and found a clear plastic tube from a set of drumsticks I forgot I had saved. One end was removable. It was too long but thin so I cut it do...

Travel case ideas for Clare Two-Piece?

Hello again all, back from playing "other" instruments. Anyway I did try searching for ideas on C&F but found none. I'll traveling by air (long flight) and will only be taking carry on luggage. To have something to play I picked up a Clare Two-Piece and gave it a general tweaking. What...

Re: Returning to Whistling and a question

It's a direct link so it's not my pic but HT demands that it be unmodified.

Yes, I had a lot of fun when I joined C&F and more importantly, I was treated kindly though asking many many doofy questions. This is one of the nicest places on The Net for sure!

Re: Returning to Whistling and a question

Yes MT, just what I was thinking. Maybe I'll be the first! I though that I can make some modal scale whistles that way, just replace the head. I'll have to do some measuring and maybe take a whistle down to Home Depot for sizing.

Love HypnoToad BTW!

Returning to Whistling and a question

I doubt if anyone remembers me but I joined this forum a few years ago, learned much, and played whistles a bit. Since musically I tend to wander from instrument to instrument so I've been playing guitar again and added bass guitar. Anyway I want to get back to whistles since they are just so enjoya...

Well, I don't look like Robert Picardo. I have hair, wear glasses, sport a moustache and a soul patch, and I'm not as thin. As for Bob Dylan, I can put a clothespin on my nose and sing "Blowin' in the wind" for you. You might not be able to tell the difference.

Mine is the character from Star Trek the Next Generation. He is a holographic doctor but he was designed by a real Starfleet doctor who showed up on Deep Space 9. His name was Dr. Zimmerman. My name is Bob Zimmerman. Cosmic!
