At least we don't tell people with whom we disagree to "Go f--- yourself" a la our illustrious Vice President. It was more than a disagreement. Leahy has a history, granted amongst Conservatives, of coming at Republicans with open arms, big smiles, and all chummy but then stabbing them in...

jack, i feel like i am about to rain on your parade. meir Firstly, I already play UPs, at an "acceptable" level. I just never learned to play whistle much. Time constraints got me to thinking that learning tunes on whistle might help in transitioning to pipes. My biggest obstacle is my ha...

'nother whistle/pipe question...

Another whistle question. I ask it here because it's pipe related, for me anyway. I am thinking of picking up a whistle that is a bit closer to "chanter size" but not as goofy feeling as a low D. Anyone play a whistle that is a bit more comfy than a low D but not as "finger confining&...

Mick O'Brien concert in St. Louis, MO Part 2

What a show this was!!! Easily, EASILY, the bets uilleann piper I've ever seen (and I've been to Willie Week twice and the Armagh gatherings). The report between Mick and his brother Andrew was fun to watch...they really cranked out some good tunes. Mick was very congenial and pleasant to chat with....

Re: Clarke tutor?

So, where does he say he wants it for free? When I read the post, I took it to mean he wants to buy a second-hand copy of the book. Lee Sei-Macfhearchair Precisely! A student is looking for a second-hand copy. I guess the "reasonable person principle" of assuming someone would "get t...

Jack, Are you using the full, registered version? It won't print with the trial version until you pay the fee for the full version. Rick My version is registered. I am considering un-installing the program and then re-installing it. I assume my registration code will work again. I've tried everthin...

ABC2Win: Printing problem

Ok, I gave ABC another shot. However, I get the following message when I try to print: "Error 41 in ABC staff drawing routines, line 48. Check the notation for completeness. Missing or incomplete lines may cause this error. Check position 273 in the ABC note text. Drawing stopped." Is ther...

Fav. music writing software

I have ABC but find it annoying as hell. I've been using the free version of Finale but it's getting on my nerves too.

Does anyone use anything that's relatively easy but still gets the job done? I don't mind inputing most of the notes and then hand-entering symbols or whatever.

Thx...
