FS: Dixon poly G whistle

It's been ages since I've been around here but I thought I'd offer you all first dibs on these whistles I'm selling. I want them to have a good home since I honestly am not playing them. Truly, they have been just sitting in my closet. Dixon poly - Low D (tunable) - $75.00 OBO ( SOLD ) I bought this...

Unfortunately a lot of sound guys are too used to setting things up for rock/pop groups. Being an audio engineer myself, I've been to a number of shows where things are not balanced properly and it can ruin an otherwise good show. In my opinion I think an accompanying guitar can work as long as it's...

I got my Generation Nickle Bb today. It came quickly and well packed. I did have to perform a little bit of surgery on it, though. When I originally played it, the upper register was really raspy. So, I followed some advice that I read previously and I shaved a bit of the extra plastic from the blad...

The wonderful part about listening and playing traditional Celtic music is that there are so many different takes on how each song is done. I think that you're talking about "Celtic music" shows that you and Colomon are on different proverbial pages. Any debate wouldn't be too constructiv...

While I don't believe she's actually playing there (mostly due to the mic placement), a particular make of whistle can sound very unlike itself after being amplified, EQ'd or given reverb. Usually, though, it's still easy to pick out some telling characteristic that gives things away. i noticed her...

If you learn only by ear, then you are learning the song without implementing your own personal style to it. I really don't see why you'd say that. It's not like learning by ear forces you to slavishly duplicate the version you learned from. And frankly, the vast majority of us don't have the the t...

Personally, I'm a firm believer that you're missing out if you don't learn to read the music as well as learn the tunes by ear. IMHO, both are important in learning the songs as well as giving them your own personal interpretation. If you only learn by reading the music, then you are most likely goi...

I just ordered a Generation Bb from them as well. Their prices are good as well as their shipping costs (the cheapest I've found so far). I'll report on how quick I receive my shipment.

I have a 2 Dixon polys (high D and low D) and I also have the Trad D. I've been pretty darn happy with them as they were my first whistles.

I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Brian-Howard-Tunable-Bodhran-inch/dp/B0002I1FCM Remo makes some pretty good drums and I've been pretty happy with this one. The nice thing about the Fiberskyn head is that it sounds good without being affected by the weather too much. It's also tunable. I a...
