Hi Fe2, have you tried a Meg or Sweetone, the D is cheap, plays in tune and is a different animal to the Susato or Generation.

Hi chas, I've never heard of this Playford book before. Just found a link to an interesting page http://www.standingstones.com/playford.html There's an abc file to download. I've just had a go at a couple of tunes and they're definitely something a bit different.

Hi I.D.10-t, this is a good question; how to stay motivated. There's an equation here to do with the amount of input ie work/effort and the reward ie musical satisfaction or appreciation. Sometimes it's all in balance and it's so easy, sometimes it's not and you wonder why you bother. The antidote t...

Have to say Chuck I really admire your pioneering spirit and enthusiasm. I think this is a great idea. I made a lot of prototype whistles in my little workshop with some success, although not really in relation to the amount of effort I put in. I flirted with the conical tube idea, but didn't want t...

I don't think this is physically possible. There is a ratio of good to bad products in every factory, it's called yield, and it will never be 100% That's only if it's old fashioned engineering. There's always this http://www.alexdenouden.nl/08/rapprod2.htm but it's going to put the price up a bit. ...

Here's what it was supposed to be

Don't know if this has been posted before, video on the Kerry whistle site in the movies section, file name At First Light_Camden_02_1.wmv. Love this music. Anyone know the tune?
