Welcome to the C&F boards!
Just to echo everyone, you're lucky to be starting so early, relatively. Linguistic and musical ability are a bit slower in the acquiring when you get to be an old f*rt. Keep up with it and good luck!

Re: newbie looking for advice on getting consistent tone
A little late to the ball game, here, but figured I'd throw in my two cents. Paul's absoloutely correct in that it's the whistler in many cases, and not the whistle. BUT I can speak from understanding a perspective very close to your own. When I was trying to learn on a Feadog, and even the Clark th...

ITM songs for kids
Hey all, I usually post in the whistle forums, but I figure this would be the most appropriate venue for my question. I'm interning in an elementary school and will be bringing a few of my whistles in on monday to perform for a few of the classrooms. I'll be working with one of the third grade teach...

A little late in the game, but I've a similar experience to Jason to throw in. I received my delrin Rover from David a few weeks ago, and I'm still getting used to it, but I have the exact same issue as Jason. I'm no stranger to backpressure, having played the clarinet for a decade previously, but t...

<3 Redwall. Well, the first several of Jaques' novels before they became so bloody redundant. As for the original topic, I am all about getting the instrument out there for other people to enjoy. I suppose the fact that I know a couple whistlers in my zip code and already know that I'm the worst of ...

Erle's Black Diamond line indeed had a website at the domain http://www.bdwhistles.com/
It appears to be "reserved" for another customer. So I guess the only way to get the definitive answer is to e-mail Mr. Bartlett himself.

Bob Hallett of Great Big Sea
For those unaware, Great Big Sea is a phenomenally talented folk/rock group out of Newfoundland. Currently consisting of members Alan Doyle, Sean McCann, Bob Hallett and Murray Foster (Formerly of Moxy Früvous <3), they're only recently starting to see the same levels of popularlity in the United St...

Hey, Squeezebox. That's quite the scratch there. The sort of scratch I'd considered enjoying over the next... fifty years or so. Congrats on such an enjoyable sounding batch, I hope it serves you well. Any other praise for the Delrin Rover? I've been trying to decide between delrin or blackwoo...

O'Brien Rover: Blackwood or Delrin?
I know the CP by Mr. O'Brien was made only recently regarding the Delrin model, but I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with his Rover series of whistles. Specifically I'm looking at the Delrin rover he showed off in the recent CP. It looked fantastic, and the clip on the site soun...
