Name of tune that Tony Hinnigan plays

On Tony Hinnigan's site, what is the name of the tune that he plays in the first whistle clip?— listed as movie #1, the one he plays on the E whistle. He says he learned it from a piper friend, but doesn't give the name of the tune. The page address is http://www.tonyhinnigan.com/whistles.php If any...

Another like the bamboo saxophone is the Xaphoon.
A search of the web will easily get you information.

At the risk of boos:
About re cord ers. The Renaissance models have a bold sound that whistle players may prefer over Baroque models.

question to makers: How to make the back curve of the beak?

I've been trying my hand at making a few whistles, starting in copper with delrin blocks. Given soft metal exterior and plastic block: How do you make the back side of the beak? (I'm meaning, of course, the curved part next to the chin when playing.) Hopefully your answers will let me know what tool...

Bear in mind that Mack makes both loud and quiet models of both black and white caps. I like my 2 year old whitecap better than my recent blackcap. Both are of the louder variety. My blackcap is not a darker sound than the whitecap. I would say it is brighter sounding. It would really interesting to...

Doesn't look like Riverman has gotten an answer to some questions: I have a serious urge to get a "C" whistle, because I play worship music as well as Irish. (and I have WHOD) I am looking at the GFM whistles by Charles Tilbury. The price looks sweet. My questions: Is the tuning good? Do t...

Erle has been fantastic about fixing my Syn whistles when I told him about intonation problems. While I was waiting for a replacement, I used a file to make it so I could push farther in, to bring up the pitch. Others have complained about a little manufacturing oil left on the whistles. Just clean ...

I'm surprised no one mentioned, undoubtedly because it has already been written about so much, that you can sweeten and soften the upper register by muting the whistle. Somehow, and for some reason I don't understand, I find that some of my various muting techniques makes it so that I don't have to ...

I like my Syn also, that's why I suggested it above.
But a word of caution: I had to fine tune the intonation on my E whistle— in fact, most of my Syn whistles.
But just a bit of filing or a bit of tape, and it will play in tune.

Acorn Whistles: Made by who? Where?

The Chiff & Whistle Inexpensive whistle list says that Acorn whistles are made in the USA by a company called "Music Sales". But a Google search on that, of course, just gets lots of other companies. Someone told me that Acorn and Oak whistles are really Feadogs. Is that true? DOES SOM...

Dots for Liz Caroll's tunes

Hi everyone, I heard the interview on NPR yesterday with Irish-American fiddle player, Liz Caroll. She has a generous selection of the sheet music for her tunes at her web site. Most of them can be played on a whistle, but many will need to be transposed into another key to be easily readable by tho...

I've tried this on the whistles that I have made (none of which were very good, by the way). I was surprised at how hard it was for me to get used to the F natural hole. I have a Mack Hoover whistle with a C natural hole (actually it's a G whistle with an F hole). I find that easy to use. But the re...
