Re: Question low D - flute headjoint

Thank you.

Oh well, a brass D flute would have been very cool!

Question low D - flute headjoint

Did Michael Copeland ever make flute a headjoint to fit on his Low Ds? I tried the search function but couldn't find an answer. This probably means no, but it never hurts to ask.
Is it even possible?

thank you.

Re: Help: Michael Copeland's serial numbers

I know this is an old post, but in case anyone is interested... My Copeland brass low D is serial 2269. I bought it from Michael in his shop in Philly in November 2000. My wife called and arranged the whole thing. I wish I had photos... I met both Michael and Jim there and they showed me the shop an...

They played for me, but there was so much reverb abd echo sound that the whistle's actucal sound seemed lost.

Your milage may vary.

And yet another great review.

Funny thing though......I somehow expected Overtons to be somehow magical and flawless and the review makes it sound like a regular good whistle....

Thank you

The weak lines are usually white-ish.

(I have some molding exp. having run the molding department where I work for 2 years. I am no technical expert on molding though :) I was the production supervisor)

Actually this kind of defect is common to molded plastic parts. The weakness is formed when the plastic meets itself at the farthest place from the gate, or entrance of plastic into the mold. This type of defect has a specific name, although it eludes me now. It is caused by the plastic not joining ...

sorta love them .... I guess that means I like them. I find that when I got to irish music festivals that I see and hear more susato's then any other whistles. They sound great outside when played with other instruments, by players much better then me, not too load or not too quiet. I like mine. My ...

the whistle shop.

Recently I purchased 12, yes one of each type, Generation whistles from Thom's online store. They arrived on time and well wrapped and are sold at a very reasonable price. Well I tried them all for about 15 minutes or more each and most were good players (you know what I mean) except for 2; the nick...
