Hi Tim,
Its around 20 years old, mid-80's I think I got it - the serial number is 1555.

There is a bid on it now so it will have to stay on ebay.

That's Rattle the Cash from the Goodman manuscript. (page 25 of the Hugh Shields edition). Nice tune! And a lovely sounding set (though I am not sure I could hear the bass drone... were all 3 drones working Beks?). Where did that Harrington chanter come from?[/quote] Yeah I love that tune, if only t...

I'm probably not allowed to mention it here but that bangle is an extremely high powered magnetic bracelet which I nearly always wear when I play as I get tendonitis in that wrist. Dont have much problem with it snagging tho as it fits very close to the skin and I push it up out of the way when I'm ...

I've not got many photos of the Crowley set, but this one on the website is is ok. http://www.beckytaylor.info/images/img122.jpg The Crowley set did come from Tom O'Rourke, but I didn't play them on that interview. The old set are a Coyne C# body in boxwood, extensively repaired by Rowsome (W) we th...

If i'm playing in a session I'll generally sit with my pipes on and just blow air through the chanter for 5-10 minutes without letting it make a noise, this is usually enough for the reed to adjust to the local conditions and means that i'm not too horrendously out of tune when I join in for my firs...

Cool, another member for the pregnant pipers club!! :o

Seriously, it can be done (gets a bit uncomfortable though). There is an old Northumbrian Pipers trick that sometimes works - Putting the belt of the bellows over your left shoulder instead of around your waist, and yes, I've tried it!

Re: Boxwood Tip

To straighten out bent boxwood simply place in vice and gently heat ( an electric paintstripper blower is ideal) gently straighten.Voile. it is really as simple as that. Slán Go Foill Uilliam Thats interesting, Northumbrian pipemaker Colin Ross was telling me the exact same thing on Saturday...
