Re: How to play Tamlin on the flute/whistle?

You can find a sheet music version here:

http://www.tinwhistler.com/index.aspx

Along the left of the page select "The Tunes"

Then select "Starting with T"

Then select "Tam Lin (Easy Whistle Version)."

Re: test

Again I'm reminded about what I like about this place by a simple test message that sparks a conversation so interesting. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: test

Yes, quite a while, Denny. Still whistling though. I don't don't seem to log in automatically any more, even when I check the appropriate box. Maybe that's one of the board-upgrade glitches.

Thanks for the good suggestions. "Madame Vanoni" by James Scott Skinner is a good one too. Brian Finnegan plays it on “When the Party’s Over.”

Solen Lesouef whistles

I came across this whistle (and flute) maker on the Internet. The whistles look beautiful. I don’t find any sound clips posted. http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.atelierdelutherie.info/-Vents-&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%2522Jean-Pierre%2BLe%2BMeur%2522%2Bwhistle%26hl%3Den Click o...

I have both. In my opinion the difference in volume is negligible. The Session feels better in my large hands, but I prefer playing the narrow bore because the high notes play so very easily. Both are fine whistles, but I don’t have any experience with sessions.

"Maverick Angels" has to be one of my favourite tunes. Only wish I knew how to play it!

Unless I missed it, I haven't seen Roy Buchanan's name. Has anyone listened to him? I think he's a fine guitarist.

Search here:

and you'll find sheet music for two tunes by that name but with midis, not recordings.

Click on "(New, improved!) search" and enter the tune name here:

I’m don’t know if this version is different from cquick’s offering above or simply in another key.
