"Whistle Stop" by Brian Hughes is one of my favorites. I read about it in this "Top Whistle CD" thread: http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?p=566280 You can listen to clips here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000IQNO I think I read somewhere that Whistle Stop is now out...

Jessie,

Colin Goldie makes a Soprano D - 10 hole. He says on his site, "The notes that can be played by the holes are D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, B, C, C#. It can also be made to have a Bb hole rather than a C hole." Is the Abell similar?

Can the tune then also be played likewise on a D or any other key whistle by moving up two steps from the D fingering?

A regular single whistle case is included with the price of a whistle. The roll case is for carrying multiple whistles.

Where you been hiding? I've been hiding in the whistle forum. During the Winter, I accepted a new job that demands more hours than I thought it would so I don't have as much time to read posts. Once in a while I check in. Nice to see the same folks are around. Chiff & Fipple is a nice community.

I like whistles in the range from C# to Bb simply because they fit my hands best and because I haven't become a fan of low whistles. I have big hands with a right index finger crooked from an old break, and my fingers are a little too close together on the high D. For months now I almost always play...

How about Dymonwood like Busman and Sweetheart use? I've read comments that it is a good choice for whistlers who are afraid of cracking? I've been thinking about getting my first wood whistle and thinking about getting one in Dymondwood. Does Dymondwood lack any of the stability or other benefits o...
