This: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/admiral-fitzroy-storm-glass-barometer-115644955 The liquid is supposed to do strange things when the weather changes. So far the crystals have all been at the bottom. It's supposed to snow tonight and rain for the next couple of days, so we'll see if this ...

Not back in those days when I had dial-up and it took forever to do anything. Oh well. Is a puzzlement.

Re: Since November twenty-stinkin'-oh-three?

The time seems off. Mine says 6:22am. I wouldn't be filling out forms at 6:22am my time. At first I thought it must be Eastern time, but that would be 3:22am Pacific time, which is even more unlikely.

I predict that on December 21, 2012, nothing unusual will happen, and the world will still be around on December 22, 2012.

Only if it's really cold. He doesn't do it that often.

Re: hanky panky

My husband is 63 and uses hankies. I'm 56 and use tissues - never liked carrying germs around in my purse or pocket.

My husband wears white t-shirts as undershirts, sometimes even under colored t-shirts. I wear colored t-shirts alone in the summer or as an undershirt in the winter.

Re: OMG! One of my nightmares is for sale!

One of my goldfish DID try to swim through the air earlier this week. My husband went down the hallway and thought it was a dog toy lying on the floor. Then he realized it was the fish (our goldfish are monsters - about 6 inches long). He said it was dead. I saw its gills move so I picked it up by i...

Re: Disaster Averted - But Just Barely

what are the alternatives? My personal scheme at the moment is trying to figure out a way to get rid of at least 5 billion people within a generation while at the same time (I can't never spell simotaneously correctly), shutting down or minimizing the pollution effects of all the stuff they leave b...

Re: Is Toshiba laptop worthy of repair?

The downfall of saying, "The next time I need to buy a (insert computer hardware), I won't buy a (insert brand name) is that I'm going to run out of all-in-one printer companies shortly. :D That's like saying one is never going to shop at a certain store ever again -- pretty soon there's no st...

Re: Is Toshiba laptop worthy of repair?

Well, anyway, it turns out the Toshiba ships factory made recovery disks to holders of real serial numbers for the excellent "shipping" rate of $24.95. Still, I consider this a cheap solution since I got the new hard drive free. That's what my daughter had to do since we hadn't made backu...

Re: Is Toshiba laptop worthy of repair?

Just don't throw away the little frame the hard drive is sitting in. Take the bad one out of that and put the new one in it, THEN put the new drive in the computer. Don't do what I did the first time and put the drive in without that frame. I noticed it before closing things up though.
