Re: Concertina strap?

As you suggest, a lot depends on personal preference. A few thoughts I've picked up from various teachers. Most suggest a samll space, maybe a quarter inch between the palm and the hand rest. This should allow some re-positioning of the hand to reach low notes or incidentals. I find that I tend to a...

I faced the same situation a year ago. I bought a mac book pro after 15 yrs of pc. (and still using windows at work) The learning curve as steeper than I expected. I am still struggling with the mac file storage system. On a pc, you have a file. The file can have files. This makes for easy storage o...

On the New England coast, the rain was loud enough to wake us last night. I guess it came closer than expected.

I sympathize with the millions world-wide who mourn his death but don’t share their feelings. I was pretty bummed when John Lennon got killed. The coverage is becoming the story. My favorite recurring media line is something almost every reporter said in the first few days after he died. It was some...

I don't know Simon. My personal deal has been pretty steady but my wife has had her hours reduced by 20%. I've actually been surprised how positive many peope seem to be. The marketplace has been tough on several family members, but they're getting by. Still your point is well taken. Many folks have...

Re: Billy Mays, dead at 50

I've never bought anything from an info-mercial, but I've been tempted.

If he really died from bumping his head in the airplane, the story and the litigation are going to be with us for a long time. He will live in cable news history. Maybe longer the the Micheal tribute specials/

Re: OK Anglo ITM Players, the gloves come off!

Just to clarify about one comment. I went to Noel Hill unable to play anything a few years ago. I believed the note on the website saying it's okay or better to start with Noel with no prior experience. It's true. Noel started me on the G scale on day 1. While I struggled, a couple of folks in my be...

Fred always gets consideration here.

Her predecessors were Walker, Lulu and Pete.

Thanks for the ideas. The name has not yet made itself known.

Right now we're focusing on inter-species peace.

Re: The Unofficial/Official Summer Poll

The can stay where they are but my observation over the past 8-10 yrs is that everything around here seems to be 3 or 4 weeks late. March winds in April. April showers in May etc. Maybe someone just needs to update, re-write and modernize all our cliches about seasons.

I'm no help. I went to a niece's wedding last weekend. I wore a suit. The wedding was nice. The kids were very sharp dressers. My suit was grey and old. So was I. I'm no help.
