That's adorable. I used to let the girl I babysit play with my flute and whistles whenever I'd take breaks from practicing while watching her... gotta watch it now though because if I leave any of my whistles where she can see them after band practice on Sunday mornings then she typically finds them...

My gosh! That is amazing! I'm so insanely jelous of all of you who actually have the ability to make whistles. It takes all my time and effort just to make the ones I buy sound good without completely killing then having to repair some fipples.

The Strayaway Child and the Blarney Pilgrim at the moment. Also I love playing "Gift of Love" from my hymnal (I think that the melody for it is based of The Water is Wide... not sure though)

Darn you people! Got me all curious about those mirror/table songs and I can't find free sheet music to them so I can test them out.

hehe. Dunno how it is with Irish flute, but my Boehm metal flute thingy is so strange to go back to after a whistle practice. I usually devote weekdays to whistle and weekends to flute. My flute feels so heavy in comparison to my whistles. Never noticed how heavy it was until I started whistling.

I cleaned out a little plastic container that once held some wet-wipe thingies and now all my whistles are SUPPOSED to go in there. Typically they are wherever I end up leaving them when I take a break from playing (which could be nearly anywhere)

Well, you can run a search on the forums about tweaking... but there are so many threads out there with that topic, that may get overwhelming. Check on the Chiff and Fipple main website. There is a whole section devoted to tweaking (which I will warn you is about as addictive as whistling and buying...

Typically I start on my Acorn because it is the easiest to play... occasionally I switch to my Clarke just because it is quieter.

My first whistle was a little An Seisiun D whistle that a friend bought for me as a souvenier when she went on vacation once (*points to the green fippled whistle in her avatar*). It was the first whistle to suffer the wrath of being tweaked... had that poor thing virtually unplayable.

AGH! I love the icon/avatar thingy Gary! Back on topic, I actually alternated when I first started playing. But then I heard somewhere that left over right was the right way to play so I forced myself to stick with that. Occasionally just for fun I try to reverse it, end up messing up really bad bec...
