Re: Piper needed! St. Louis or Nashville areas

Haha, slipped into trade language. That would be extreme polytheism! Thanks for the suggestions. Hope one pans out.

Piper needed! St. Louis or Nashville areas

My church needs a piper for a Dec 9 concert! We worship over 1100 a Sunday, and have "A Celtic Christmas" on that day. The parts are pretty easy, but since i have pastoral duties, I'm not able to handle it myself. The church is First United Methodist of Jonesboro, Arkansas. We will cover t...

FS: MK Low D in shiny green

A great low D, like the rest of Misha's offerings. I find myself not playing the low whistles anymore, and with the coming arrival of our 3rd child, no place for idle instruments. I am asking $300 for it, and I will cover shipping and insurance to the lower 48. I will also accept a trade+cash on a B...

FS: Oz Vambrace D whistle in blackwood/silver SOLD

Up for sale is my Oz Vambrace D whistle in blackwood and silver. It is a lovely whistle, and everything you would expect out of Mitch's shop. I find myself favoring the sound of metal whistles lately, and I am not one to let good instruments lay idle. The whistle has been oiled regularly, and I have...

Re: Narrow Bore D?

Contact Bill Haneman. He made me a narrow bore d, and it is wonderful. He can also offer a maker's perspective.

Re: Imagine my surprise...

Sounded like the real deal to me, and the credits had Ivan Goff listed under musicians.

Imagine my surprise...

...at hearing the uilleann pipes while watching an episode of the Backyardigans with my two year old! I was dozing off on the couch when the familiar tone of the pipes hit my ears. Throughout the entire episode, the pipes were playing. Muirenn (my daughter) kept saying "pipes, pipes!" when...

Re: B Chanters

Depends on what sort of B you want.

I listened to a lot of B sets, and went with Bill Haneman. Just took delivery of a B set in Box...phenomenal soul on that chanter. It was a real treat to hear it in the hands of proper pipers too, at the NPU tionol.

Some love for the NPU...

Hey gang, I just returned from the NPU tionol in Borris, and it was great. As a new piper from the US, I was a tad overwhelmed by the personalities and the playing there, but the people were just wonderful. I thought I would take a moment to give some love to the NPU, Gerry, Sandie, Ruairi Somers (p...
