FS: Mary Bergin Irish Tin Whistle Tutorial Vol.1 & 2 never used like new
I picked these up from Mary herself at O'Flaherty's in 2021 when I was taking a whistle class from her there. I wanted to do my part to help support her trip to the venue. They've sat on a shelf ever since. Books are in new quality, and include the follow-along CDs (for those who still have a CD pla...

Re: CP: May, Mahan Woodwinds
Well done! Is the wood grain version the second picture in your post? I was curious what the difference between walnut and wood grain was. Also, does the PLA infused with wood sound any different or does it sound just he same as the pure PLA? Eric Thanks! The wood grain is the 2nd pic. Walnut just ...

So, I've taken the plunge and set up a maker's website at https://mahanwoodwinds.squarespace.com All of April, I was selling whistles at the local Renaissance festival, and was able to get my process down to where it was very repeatable and consistent, so I finally felt comfortable opening up a site...

Shush whistle
I haven't been super active in writing whistle reviews lately. Mostly because I'm not hustling to get new whistles to review--once the site stopped paying for itself, it was a challenge to buy lots of whistles. It's much easier to do that with ad income than personal income. But occasionally a maker...

In my last update, I had made a custom whistle for someone in Germany. I decided I liked the look of the whistle so much, I got some additional wood-infused filament that had a nice gradient effect, and made a handful of whistles with it. I really like how they turned out! https://i.imgur.com/EcJSaB...

Re: New Double-Whistle Idea
You know that finger-stretch of putting the lower-hand ring finger on Hole 6 way down there? And how much more comfortable it is to use the lower-hand little finger to cover Hole 6 instead? I've been using my pinkie on the bottom hole since like 1998. You don't know how many times people have told ...

For some reason, making the post longer was encountering server errors, so I'm breaking it up into 2 parts. Sorry! https://youtu.be/yt_i_rOTejY Here's the video of the whistle. ----------------- So, by a happy accident, and not because of anything I did especially to cause it, my whistles work very ...

You can reach me about whistles with my etsy shop (linked below) or by writing me at greg@tinwhistler.com or shooting me a private message here. Standard whistles are $50.00 USD, and I may charge some nominal fee for more exotic materials or lots of customization. So, I've working on making these wh...

Hello, Is the Goldie D still available? Send me PM or Email to chat. Thanks, Hi, Tou-Che! Yes, it's still available. But I'm not sure how I send PMs on this forum. :-? Can a mod (or someone else) explain if this is possible/how to do this? Alternatively, you can email me at debategdb@gmail.com abou...

Re: 3d printed whistles, take 2?
Heh heh, so your version of the "fine grained timbers" we so like to work! Does it have any impact on density? Interesting to compare the weight of a current whistle and one made with the finer nozzle. It shouldn't have any material change in density. The melted plastic isn't going to be ...

Thanks again for taking us along for the ride, Wanderer, it's been really interesting. Do get back to us if there are further insights and breakthroughs. We want to be the first to know here, not the last! My next big innovation in the process will be switching to a .2 mm nozzle (currently using a ...
