Re: 'Shroom boat
I am certain Katy has a more than passing familiarity with the writings of my buddy Paul Stamets, whom I have nick-named ´St. Paul of the Mushrooms´, the owner of Fungi Perfecti . Paul led me down the ´garden path´ to becoming a part-time shii-take grower, provisioner to the kind of restaurants I c...

Re: CP: Face Masks
Just wanted to drop a line here thanking everyone who's ordered. We got someone just yesterday who commented they saw the etsy page here on C&F. This is not a bump to try to drum up more business...she's currently a little overwhelmed and freaking out :) But I thought I'd come in and say thanks ...

Re: Starter Whistle/set recommendation?
at a slight price increase (around $30 USD last I checked), the Dixon DX-Trad is a nice and easy place little whistle. Is that this one? https://www.amazon.com/Dixon-Trad-D-Whistle-Nickel/dp/B001KZTSB6/ yup. Also here: https://www.tonydixonmusic.co.uk/product/soprano-whistle-the-trad-nickel-key-of-...

Re: CP: Face Masks
Sourcing material, as you can imagine, is difficult these days...she's grabbing whatever cute stuff she can find. She put up 9 or 10 more designs today (including Washington Nationals, if you're a fan). She goes out about once a week and hits the craft/fabric stores to see what she can get that she ...

Re: CP: Face Masks
You should be able to pick a pattern, click "add to cart", go back to the shop, pick another pattern, click "add to cart". They should both be in there. Right, that's how it works. My first selection brought me to a new page indicating the details; then I hit the "previous ...

Re: Such a deal!
Can't say with whistles, but I have some personal experience with books. A lot of ebay sellers are actually robots. They'll usually scan the listings and price items at a near price point. Some robots will sense books that are out of print, deduce they are now rare, and raise prices. Once, I changed...

Re: CP: Face Masks
I just bought one. I couldn't figure out how to buy multiples, though my initial plan was to buy one and see if we like it here. I just thought I'd mention that ordering issue in case it wasn't just me. I picked a pattern, then picked another and the first one disappeared. Again, that may be just m...

CP: Face Masks
My wife's been making face masks for friends and family and co-workers. But now she's out of personal contacts to make masks for, so I encouraged her to set up an Etsy shop. She's got a ton of cute designs, if anyone is looking for face masks still, or if you just want something cuter than what you ...

Re: COOKING
I don't know about other Yanks, but for scrambled eggs I would be equally as likely to say "fry" as "cook". Interestingly (or not), I only "cook" omelets; I haven't "fried" them yet. I agree that you can only "cook" an omelette, not fry it. I take i...

Re: COOKING
I already don't use the convection setting on my big oven ;) And why is that? Some people seem to really like them. I've never had one, myself, so I have no point of reference. No real need. I fry the things I want to fry. The things I cook in the oven, I already know how to cook without convection...

Re: COOKING
It seems like a good alternative to using the oven for single serving meals. I didn't think of that possibility; I was under the impression that an air fryer was something of a one-trick pony, a monotasker. It's just a tiny convection oven. I already don't use the convection setting on my big oven ;)
