In reply to your question Boyd, yes, the week long summer school is in the City of Durham just a few miles away from me and I am still sorely tempted. I went last year when our two whistle instructors were Niall Keegan and Sarah Allen (Flook), great week despite the downpours.

selkie, keep an eye on the ''folkworks'' web site, they do some ''canny'' weekend courses every now and again in the Northumbria area.
