Re: Whistles and Tinnitus
Excellent thread - lots of helpful info. Thanks everyone! I think that has made it easier to ignore over the...

Re: Which annoying reel should I learn next?

Tam Lin. Tam Lin (the G...

I bought a "dozen hi-low" bag from her about 6 months ago... it is fantastic. Beautiful and functional - I couldn't be happier.

Re: Purpose of a conical bore
If you are wondering why most whistlers prefer a cylindrical bore over a more accurate conical bore, my opinion is that the cylindrical bore is more "versatile". A player can "pitch bend" a cylindrical whistle to correct for flat notes in the upper registers and retain a 3 or 4 ...

Great stuff, Bo! You've got a new fan (on MySpace anyways)...
I tend to set my PA volume on a low D, playing very close, then I gradually back off as I get up the scale... up to a foot away (or at least off-axis) in the high octave on the high D.

Re: [Music Score] Playing 2 tin whistles at the same time.
Hmm. Do you have two pairs of hands, or do you play with your toes? If you follow the instructions in the PDF it only requires two whistles and two hands... Thanks Hatao... I may actually give this circus stunt a whirl. (It's certainly the only way my band would ever consider doing "Danny Boy&...

(cover holes 1,3,4 with one hand; trill hole 2 as fast as you can with the other hand)

That would be correct - 415.3 Hz is a perfectly in tune Ab. (chart)chas wrote:Susato makes Db whistles, which would be the equivalent of D at A415. It's possible you inadvertently received a Db.
