The Long Drop - rolls, crans?

I'm looking for some advice with fingering help on the song, "The Long Drop", from Kevin Crawford's "In Good Company" CD. I've been working on the song and have it down except for one problem in the 2nd and 6th measures where you have the following (in abc format for 2nd/6th meas...

If you are just looking for a bang-around, go anywhere flute, the Doug Tipple PVC flute is a good choice. For around $50 you can get a 3 piece flute that plays well.

Back to the original question of what do people think of the M&E flute... I've no opinion on what's better; wood, polymer, delrin, etc. I can only comment on the M&E I've been playing about 6 months now. I use it as my exclusive flute for travel and sessions, and feel it serves my purposes v...

I assume by "dots" you mean the notes? I found them on the JC MIT tune finder site at Coilsfield House.

I hope I got the pointer right. Never could figure out those URL things. :)

Gary, Thanks for the heads-up. I sent in my registration and hope that Mike Simpson will be teaching flute. Of course, there's so many good folks at IMT it is a win-win for beginners like me.

Take my comments with a grain of salt as I'm selling a Sweetheart Keyless Rosewood to finance my purchase of a keyed flute... I've had my keyless Rosewood for about 6 months and find it a very easy flute to play. It has good intonation in the first and second octave and a nice round (but not too lou...

For Sale: Ralph Sweet Keyless Rosewood Flute

As much as I hate to sell it, I need to so I can help finance my purchase of a keyed flute. This is Ralph's silver ringed rosewood model in D, #318. I've had it around 6 months and have played it a few times only at sessions. I'll pay shipping and include a soft case and swab. I figured before listi...

I went with the inline and have not regretted it. While it took me a while to get the pipers grip down, I now can find a comfortable finger position on almost any flute or low D whistle I pick up. When I bought my Tipple PVC the 3 piece was not available, but if it was I would have gone for that ins...

James, thank you very much for taking the time to record this for me. My only comments are: 1. Damn. You play very well. I can only hope to play that well someday. 2. Your sound on the M&E 6-key has me sold on the idea of getting one. Thanks again. Your effort to record this has helped me make a...

Glauber has posted information on slow sessions at Murphy Roche that has sheet music and recordings played slowly. I found this an invaluable help in learning some new tunes. You can find them at http://www.murphyroche.com/Slow_Session ... _Tunes.htm.

M&E Keyed Polymer or Blackwood Flute

I recently received my M&E Rudall polymer flute and just love it. I find it easy to play, loud enough for sessions and responsive. I'm starting to think about what I'll get next and was wondering if anyone has experience with his keyed flutes. I see on his web page that he will key both polymer ...
