I found the original source of the content of the whistle book.

I reported it to Amazon but it sounds like they won't do anything. Thank you for the information. Sorry to hear about the scams, and I'm glad he was held accountable.

Re: Michael Hamilton, tinwhistle maker?
Huh, interesting. I wonder if the "how to make a whistle" book was even his content or taken from someone else. I'll have to google some of the phrases and see if it was someone's website instructions or something.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi DeTerminator, Jerry Freeman is an active member here, if he doesn't see this thread on his own you could send him a PM and I'm sure he will be able to answer your questions.

Michael Hamilton, tinwhistle maker?
Hi all, does anyone know any contact details for whistle maker Michael Hamilton? I bought the book he sells through Amazon but there is a missing page (which others mention in the reviews, so it's not an Amazon error) and I'd love to get in touch about it. However, it looks like it was set up 13 yea...

WTB: multipiece or collapsing / telescoping whistles
Clare two piece. Doolin two piece. Telescoping Laughing Whistles. Telescoping Hoover whistles. Telescoping O'Brien whistles. Potentially multi-piece Parks. Or others that I don't know of. What have you got? I'm probably interested! Cross posted in the Used Instrument Exchange and duplicated once her...

Another Killarney convert
I finally decided to go for it and ordered a Killarney D, which I'd been eyeing up for a while. 89 Euro shipped from Ireland, and the Euro to dollar rate is very nearly 1:1 at the moment so the cost to me after my credit card converted it was $95 and change. (Edited to add - Paypal gave me the optio...

FS: Carbony Celtic Winds Carbon Fiber D whistle
For sale, like new a Carbony Celtic Winds high D whistle. I purchased this somewhere around 2011-2012 at the Eugene Irish Festival, from a Carbony vendor booth. I ended up not using it at all due to going into whistle hibernation shortly after that, so it is in like new condition. https://pages.uore...

Speak to me of "pure" altos these days
Hello for my second post in one day and my third post in the past year, apparently. I am out of touch with today's brands, and am interested in picking up an A and a Low G. I tend to prefer metal whistles, either all metal or (more often) with plastic heads. I prefer "pure" tones without a...

Re: Want to play Name That Whistle?
Thank you for the input! Yes, the telescoping could be an early Hoover - I'll ask him. A Feadog! Excellent. I can get those cheap and send a few to Mack for re-heading. Sweetheart, eh? I believe that one was a gift from some friends, now that I think about it more. I normally have metal whistles; I ...

Want to play Name That Whistle?
Hello all, long time no see if you were here 15-20 years ago, and hello probably for the first time if you've joined since then. I've recently dug out my Box O Whistles and there are a half dozen in there that I can't identify. Anyone want to take a look and take a guess as to the brand/maker of the...

For sale: Rare mini anglo in Oregon
For sale in Eugene, Oregon, USA. I purchased this mini from Chris Algar of Barleycorn Concertinas in February 2021 but now need to sell to finance a potential new acquisition. It was made by David Leggett. It is about 4 inches across the ends. It has 16 buttons and contains the complete G row for a ...

Sold: Serpent Whistle in D
I must have had this for nearly 20 years now; probably got it around 2003. For sale, Serpent Whistle in D. Brass, thick walled compared to many whistles. Breathy/chiffy sound, well in tune with itself and with a tunable head. Hand etched serpent symbol on the back of the headpiece. Asking $25 plus s...

Eugene, Oregon
There's a new Facebook group which will hopefully help some residents around Eugene Oregon find fellow musicians. The local session scene was collapsing even before Covid, as far as I could tell.

Re: Musical teleconferencing, other than instruction
What about using tiktok for a session, like it was used for The Wellerman, where each iteration adds another player? The first one or two people wouldn't get that session feel but as it progressed it would develop more depth.
