Sweden, Blekinge: Students sought, Flute, Whistle, Pipes

Hello, My name is David Adam and I've recently moved to Sweden from Scotland where I played with a number of bands and taught round the country. I am available for lessons on wooden flute, whistles, bagpipes (smallpipes, borderpipes, highland bagpipes) in either Irish or Scottish music, as well as a...

Re: GHB/smallpipes - any other notes possible?

Some makers will make small pipes with keyed chanters to compensate for the lack of cross fingered notes.

I've got one by Ian Kinnear with a C natural and a high B, they come in very handy.

Re: sessions in south sweden

I thought it might be a quiet time for session. Some one is asking around so might get a tune in Blekinge before I leave. Let us know if anything is happening in Lund.

The Moonzie Allstars - debut album- out now

Hello everyone, Just thought I'd do a shameless plug for my new band's debut album called Hypnagogic. The last band was very traditional so this is kinda the antithesis of that, with blues, rock, punk, ska and folk. The prue drop people might not like it but for everyone else the tracks are so diffe...

Re: Wild mushrooms

I haven't managed to find real morels here yet only false ones. Saying that though I had false morel sauce at Christmas in Sweden and it was lovely and no sore stomach. They had been dried for a long time, boiled then the water discarded before making the sauce. Really earthy almost truffly taste.

Re: Freezing here - 21 and getting colder

I know what you mean steampacket, I'm over for my first Christmas in Blekinge. It hasn't got above -7 since I arrived. The weather was almost as cold when left Scotland. Took two attempts to fly out of Aberdeen.

FS: Ormiston D Blackwood Flute - 6 Key Short D foot - SOLD

Hello, Well I've sold my Irish pipes as 4 sets of pipes and taken delivery of my new 8 key flute by George Ormiston so it's time to let the 6 key go. I bought the old flute unkeyed about 5 years ago and got George to add the keys a few years ago. He did a lot of work making sure the new bottom half ...

Re: FS: Bruce Childress D half set in Rosewood

I managed to sell the pipes privately. The day I put them on ebay I got a spate of enquiries and someone who was on holiday in Scotland called round and bought them. Sorry to have to pull it off ebay. Does anyone know how to change the title of the thread so it says sold. New flute is ready to be pi...

Re: FS: Bruce Childress D half set in Rosewood

You're right Sean, he probably has done quite a few changes but I'd have to send them state-side then back for here to sell them. I didn't mean to come across as snappy, sorry.
