It's just so hard to believe. After opening those ice creams stores all around the country and doing so much for the environment. Where are we going to get earth-friendly ice cream in enviromentally correct containers now?

Keyed vs Non-keyed

I'm new to flutes so please forgive my silly question. I have my Doug Tipple tunable flute in D and am starting to get reasonably proficient at it. Well, at least I don't get dizzy anymore :D I'm now starting to think about getting a better flute that I can actually be seen in public with (just kidd...

My internet connection is DSL, but I don't know if the phone company will let me keep it if I drop the phone service. Actually, in Atlanta high-speed internet is cheaper over cable than DSL is with phone service. So there is no overwhelming reason to keep the DSL if we turn off the phones. I'm not s...

Many of the new MTA's have battery backup which can last for days. The ones we've tested have gone around 4-5 days before draining sufficiently to affect the call. Almost all equipment on the cable plant up to the customer premise is line powered. We run a 60Hz carrier that the equipment uses to run...

OT: Landline versus cell phone

Jerry's question on VoIP phones gets to me a question I've been meaning to ask opinions on for a while. How many people do not even have a landline phone service and only use their cell phones? My wife and I both have cell phones with 900 minutes shared and we always carry over 200-300 minutes a mon...

Looks like I was typing a response while you were further clarifying your question *insert sheepish grin*. Personally, I've tested call quality with Vonage and found it to be pretty good, in some cases better than standard phone service. Their promise of QOS is not quite accurate though, since that ...

Re: OT: Anyone familiar with broadband (Internet) telephone?

I spotted an ad for a broadband telephone service, and it looks like I could save some money. Does anyone know about these? What are the pros and cons? How does one pick a provider? I could go on and on, but I'll try to be concise :D I believe there will be two revolutions in the cable industry, Vo...

I received my Tipple tunable about a week ago and am slowly getting up to speed with it. I've got fairly large hands and find it a bit difficult even with the pipers grip to get the proper hole coverage, but that is not the flute's fault, it's mine. I'll second the statement about Robert being a gen...

I love my Al Pro and use it everywhere. I can cut back on the volume for in the house, push it a bit at sessions, lay back when recording. Personally, I don't think you would go wrong with a Brass or Composite either. Michael Burke just has it together when it comes to whistles.

Bravo Nadine and Chris. Bravo. Beautiful album.

When can we expect a solo whistle album? You've got a lovely sound. :D
