I wonder how a fiddler with this style played pipes. What elements of this style were carried over?
Do you have any recording of him playing the pipes.

Now you've got me listening to Paddy Canny. Great stuff. Easy to see where Martin Hayes got it from. Just loaded his solo recording on my MP3 player for next weeks commutes! :)

Pat Mitchell Album- Tune name

In Pat Mitchells 1976 album "Uilleann Pipes", side 2, track 4 says "Double jig: The Maiden That Jigged It In Style". It seems to me that there is another jig added to this recording that is not mentioned on the track listing. The notation for The Maiden That Jigged It In Style is...

Mike, Bill Ochs is great. If he cannot fit you in, Martin McCormack gives private lessons in Sunnyside, Queens, when he is not touring with Riverdance. Our club had him for a group class on Saturday and it was great. He can be contacted at mccormackmusic@yahoo.com Liam http://www.hudsonriverpiperscl...

Just an FYI, The latest free version of RealPlayer (11.0.1) has a video recording feature that works with TG4. It is easy to use- simply put your cursor on the video image and click on "download". The video is saved as a .ivr file (internet video recording). A 33 minute long file was 55mb....

A newly reformed Moving Hearts appeared on the Late Late Show last month.
Select the Dec 14th show to see the video.

I saw a Leo Rowsome reed playing perfectly on Saturday. It was made by Leo in 1970. It was one of 4 reeds he made at the same time for this customer. The other 3 have since failed but this reed was a winner!
