Hi there Jsluder, just to reply to you, my music teacher plays a Seery whistle exclusively. He tried out this whistle before I bought it and said it was a great whistle! He often plays his Seery at sessions and always in class and it really has a lovely tone. I just prefer playing the ordinary cheap...

A good session also is at Rosie O'Grady's pub in Harolds Cross, every Thursday night from about 9.30pm on till late. The session is held upstairs in the pub. They give out a list of tunes on the night, so you'll know what tunes they'll be playing at that session.

Hi there, Cillian o'Briain has his workshop in Dingle, Co. Kerry. His whistles can be bought from the Shannaquay shop in Adare, Co. Limerick - www.shannaquay.com. I think its also a shop that you can visit. Desi Seery the flute and whistle maker lives in Bray, Co. Wicklow - I dont know his website a...

Hi Tyghress,
I was wondering if you had had a chance yet to get up to the Sweetheart flute factory, and what you thought of the blackwood whistles!
thanks!

Yes thats the old Mark 1 Feadóg all right, I have one at home (my first whistle) - I'd say go for it! They have a lovely sweet mellow sound - not scratchy & edgy like the new version! Good luck!

Whistles for Sale: Seery D and Hoover Whitecap D

Two lovely whistles for sale: The Hoover Whitecap D has a brass barrell and costs $45 new. I'm offering it for $23, due to slight tarnishing around the finger holes. Its a quiet whistle with a pure sweet tone. The Desi Seery D whistle is in perfect condition, brand new & unplayed, I'm offering i...

Hi Tyghress,
I'd REALLY appreciate that! Seeing as I live on the other side of the world, I have no opportunity to try out the blackwood whistles. I have a Laminate Pro which I like a lot, but I'm not mad about its tone.
Many thanks for your suggestion,

On the topic of Sweetheart whistles, I was wondering if anyone would know how the tone of the Blackwood compares to the dymondwood. Is the natural wood mellower-sounding? I'm very interested in the blackwood model on the sweetheart website and am wondering if the blackwood tone is worth an extra $20...

Could anyone tell me please if the fipple of the sweetheart professional whistle (new model) is made from delrin or laminate material?
