WTT Delrin Copley for other delrin/ non-wood flute DONE

Up for trade - delrin Copley flute with silver rings, no tuning slide. Less than a year old. Looking to try out another maker’s flute.

Have already tried Sweet, Seery, And Dixon, so not looking for one of those.

PM if interested, and happy new year!

Re: Wanted: Reviol Keyed Flute

That is legit heartbreaking. I hope you find a wonderful flute you can play! Lucky you, it only took me 10 days to become sensitized to my dream flute, a brand new Cocus Olwell Pratten. I had actually been playing Blackwood flutes prior to that without issues, however once I became sensitized to the...

Re: Wanted: Reviol Keyed Flute

Didn’t realize Blackwood was the mostly allergic type. I was picturing more like pau ferro or cocobolo.

Re: Whistle Giveaway

Bearing in mind the spirit of generosity in which this is intended, I’m not going to be hunting around looking too closely at the time signatures. What I will be doing is listening to some new tunes shared by others - I happen to have an affinity for 3/4 feeling tunes - and giving a whistle away. :t...

Whistle Giveaway

With the mods’ permission, and in order to show my gratitude for the wealth of information I have gotten here, I am sponsoring a whistle giveaway. Up for grabs - a brand new Chris Wall whistle in “A” (ordered a while ago, but newly received). It works like this: To enter, simply post here telling me...

Re: Making bellows (or at least trying)

When I made a bellows, I used adhesive caulk between the wood and leather, then tacked it before the caulk dried.

Can’t speak to the rest, but good luck!

Re: What is this "ornament" she is playing?

Careful not to conflate this as one 'movement'. . . . Once you get your head around it. It important to grasp the structure of the tune and the ornaments are doing there. Things fall into place then. These, 100%. Sometimes a cut and then a pat is just a cut and then a pat. Having the feel of the tu...

Re: Tips on getting into the third octave

Thank you! This, I wasn’t doing:
[- aim the jet higher (blow more across than down)/quote]

Tried it, and have been able to hit some partials. Rather uncontrolled, not notes, but at least high frequencies, which is something to start…

Tips on getting into the third octave

Looking for some tips on getting into the third octave, please. Tighter embouchure, sure, but how do I do that?!? I can hit the 3rd D, but nothing above that…

I would appreciate any helpful tips that worked for you, no matter how idiosyncratic.
