FS: Copeland sterling silver soprano D

Being long under employed and bills looming I need to part with one of the jewels of my collection. Sterling silver Copland D bought around 2001 +/- I'm including links for photos. I haven't polished it yet so it ain't purtied up as much as it could be. :-) Comes with heavily padded pouch. $1100 fir...

Re: Music prayer...

When I was a child I learned that now matter how hard or how much you pray for something sometimes the answer is still "No". Despite a marrow transplant Evlin's leukemia returned on August 14th to be further complicated by a fungal infection. She had the best care possible at Boston Childr...

Re: Music prayer...

Past due for an update, but life has been so busy… Evlin had her marrow transplant on Feb 24th (as noted in previous post). Essentially it amounted to a very long IV drip of marrow stem cells. She then had to contend with the aftermath which included sores in her mouth & digestive tract (a norma...

Re: Favorite G whistle?

If I need volume I play either my Copeland Low G or my Burke (Brass). If I need a quieter sound I play my Honer/Generation hybrid. There is not one favorite really. I like them all for what they are.

Re: Music prayer...

A brief update. Evlin had a marrow transplant in the wee hours of Friday night/Saturday morning. Since her brother, Colin, was not a match (35% chance) we are very fortunate that a match was found in the national database (50% chance). The transplant itself (on Evlin's end of it) was somewhat of a n...

Re: Music prayer...

PLEASE let's not turn this thread for my daughter's recovery onto a religion flame war! PLEASE! I don't want this thread to get locked because folks can't agree to disagree and just play nice. I have enough stress going on right now, thank you. Please don't add to it by dissing good intentions of re...

Re: Abell or Rose???

I know nothing about Rose but have owned an Abell D from the early years of his production (#52). I did upgrade the head-joint a few year later when I visited Chris's shop when he was in Concord, MA. While it is a marvelous whistle, it is not for the faint of heart. Nice tone & loud . Good for a...

Re: Expensive Whistles vs Inexpensive?

The most expensive whistle (except for a couple like Copeland) is still cheaper than the cheapest flute! It's all relative... Oh yeah - don't even talk about trumpets (or oboes, bassoons, etc, etc, etc)! I agree. Just take a look at the cost of a high end handcrafted recorder. A nice soprano record...

Thanks for spotting that! Just made the correction and tried to increase the resolution a bit as well.

Re: Music prayer...

Here is the whistle tab. Please, anybody, let me know if I screwed it up anywhere and I'll make corrections. And osage, thank you as well. My earlier reply was typing on my iPad on the train with dodgy wireless so I had to be hasty. Didn't mean to leave you out of the gratitude! :)

Re: Music prayer...

Does anyone know where I could find this beautiful tune in whistle tab (Filled in holes)? I can't read music yet, though I plan to work on learning to. But I would love to get this song in tab so I could start learning it. I think it is one of the most beautiful tunes I have ever heard. I play it i...

Re: Music prayer...

Last Sunday I did not make our local session in Gloucester. Was doing my best to rest & let my body fight off a cold that was on it's way out. Cold germs are not welcome on an oncology ward and I needed to see my girl. Had to miss a visit last week for the sneezing, and draining sinuses. At any ...
