First Banjo-Recommendations?
Hello, I've become officially addicted to ITM and the instruments it typically includes. I've taken up fiddle, whistle, guitar, bodhran, and harp. I'd like to buy my first banjo. Looking to spend no more than $200. Is that reasonable? If I'm getting on with it, I'm willing to spend more on a higher ...

Clark Original Whistle Models over the years
I found my Clark whistle from ???....It may be 20 years old? Trying to date it. No luck from searching the Clark website. Is there another thread on here that has the Clark models with a photo and or description? I seem to remember at some point they started getting fancy, painting them, etc. This o...

Thanks for this tip! Could you post a link to an example of what you are referring to? For example on Amazon, or wherever you purchased yours?

Corrision in the Fipple--
Chieftain V3, purchased pre-owned, totally corroded in the windway, fipple, etc. How do I clean this out? Tried the hot water and soap trick. It's all still there. In all serious, do I need chemicals to take care of it? And, would those damage any part of the mouthpiece? Whose had this problem and h...

Loosen Generation, Oak, Feadog, Walton, etc fipple
I've searched "fipple tweak" and "loose fipple" etc. and found brilliant minds at work regarding tweaking etc. I'd just like to be able to loosen my Generation D, Bb, C, etc. fipples safely, so that I can tune them (and maybe tweak if the desire strikes in the future). Without th...

Bamboo Flute Smells?
I received a new bamboo flute from the maker today. It is beautiful. I went to put it to my mouth and immediately noticed a change in the air aroma. I smelled inside the mouthpiece (and the rest of the flute holes) and there is a distinctive musky smell that (forgive me), I have only experienced whe...

Killarney Brass Bb
Can't find anything about this whistle other than that it exists on their website. Anyone have it, can speak to it? Can't find a whistle review or even recording on Youtube or the Killarney website for the Bb module.

Clover flutes & Holifield whistle
Any correlation between these two makers? The fipples look nearly identification, and both favor a clover on their whistles. Coincidence, or did the makers once work together, maybe apprentice together under another whistle maker?

Re: Vintage Generation Question
Thanks. Does that mean anything (brass or nickle plated) with the sticker is not actually a vintage generation?

Vintage Generation Question
Excuse my ignorance--is there such thing as a vintage Generation nickle whistle? I'm aware of the Vintage Brass Generation modules.

Re: Made my whistles quieter
@Alaskamike, where did you get the brass sheet? What did you use to cut it? And where does one find blue tack? I have a Shush whistle I love. It's all I can practice on. Its the feadog in D. But man, I don't want to spend another $50 on a C version tweaked professionally to shush it, and the shippin...

Loose Fipple
My DX006 high D alloy whistle's fipple mouthpiece is loose. I don't mean that because it's tunable. It's moving left and right just slightly when I play it. I've only been playing it about a week on and off since it arrived new--I'd estimate a total of 2 hours cumulative playing throughout the week....

Re: New Kerry High D whistle in the works
Sedi, when you say "I received my newsletter from Phil Hardy today and it seems, the new Optimas will be available soon." what new Optimas? I'm aware of only the Cobre D (and now C). Are there other Optimas that are "new"?
