Re: Taking Nominations for the Best Summertime Song

If you have Sirius/XM, channel 6 is doing Beach Boys and summer songs all Memorial Day weekend. Dug up some great things yesterday.

Re: Coffee Cups & Tea Cups

I drink my tea (don't drink coffee) out of an insulated travel mug (with lid). Keeps it hot, and it doesn't spill. Have a very large one for work, a smaller one here at home. If I know I'll be at a table or something stable, I do have a nice tea mug I use, but that's rare. Tom also uses a travel mug...

Re: Falling asleep on the job

I don't know about falling asleep, but there are times I tend to "zone out" when playing. In fact, there are certain songs that if I think about playing them, I can't play them. I need to go more on auto-pilot. And they tend to be songs that are more intricate, or have special meaning to m...

Re: What do you like best about where you live?

Contrary to popular belief, the area I live in is not all conservative, racist, and stagnant. You just have to dig a little (and get away from the new "McMansion" suburbs) to find it. I love the diversity of my neighborhood, but the friendliness, too. I love the old houses and wonderful gr...

Re: Jobs for young adults that provide housing

Emm - you know my youngest has similar "quirks" as yours. He knew that college wasn't an option right now. He filtered through several jobs at the local all year farmer's market. That got him introduced to one of the premier chefs in the area, who took a chance and hired him to do all the ...

Re: Thoughts on E-Bay

I, too, am a long time eBay-er, and I, too, kinda dislike all the changes that have happened as it has grown. I can remember looking at it every day for certain specialty things, and not having to wade through tons of mass marketed stuff. Now, a search can take forever because you have to keep addin...

Re: Who Are You Going to Come Back and Haunt?

I've told everyone if they hook me up to machines and prolong my life, I will come back to haunt them - and my kids know I'm stubborn enough to do it. I'd come back and haunt my ex. He lives in the house I originally bought and he's always said it is haunted (I lived in it 18 years and never had any...

I'm in safety. Abbreviations are par for the course. It's like a secret language. Like the government. OSHA. NIOSH. ACGIH. EPA. FEMA. DEA. ATF. DHS. NFPA. WHMIS (Canada). GHS. Initiation requires 8 hours of SLT (safety leadership training) or a week long IHS school (Industrial hygiene).

Re: Edmund Scientific

Can you get them to wash their hands after going to the bathroom? That seems to be the biggest hurdle of all time. Don't know about the mens room, but in the womens, the hurdle is having them replace a roll of paper towels. You don't want to know what our fire chief had to say about all the bottles...

Re: Edmund Scientific

Kind of funny how for every new job invented we find new ways they are hurting us. Hatters use to get neurological problems from the mercury, farm accidents, heck now it seems that the act of sitting for 8 hours could be horrible for your long term health. Kids don't break bones in sports as much, ...

Re: Edmund Scientific

My ex reloaded. My boys spent their fair share of time blowing things up, including "augmentation" of the payloads on Estes Rockets. A really great way to blow something up is to put a dry ice pellet in a 2 liter plastic soda bottle with just a tiny bit of water, seal it tights and sit it ...
