I don't really listen to the blues, but I do have a Skip James cd because the way he played guitar fascinates me. It's more kind of country-blues than what you normally think of as the blues, but it's good stuff.

I went to Sam's for lunch with a couple coworkers yesterday. We didn't get yelled at but we did have to wait over half an hour for our food even though it wasn't busy - Sam was having a rather busy conversation about politics with the other customer, you see. It was good food once we got it th...

Those dark dune spots represent the best chance of finding microbial life on Mars, actually. The seasonal pattern they follow can't be attributed to any non-organic means, the way they begin underneath the ice in the Martian spring and then spread until they reach the surface, then recede as the Mar...

I just got a job and moved to Nashville a couple weeks ago.

One of my co-workers told me about this place today (which is just a few blocks down from where I work) and apparently if you go in in the middle of the week and it's too crowded, Sam will yell at you to get out!

That's kind of bizarre because my Nana had a dachshund named Oscar, and when she was dying of cancer, he wouldn't leave her side during her last few hours no matter how much people tried to drag him away. I think animals' senses are just better than ours, they can sense very subtle changes in things...

I'll fully admit to doing stuff like this before. Many of my physics exams in fact had at least one snarky cartoon on it. I never got any credit for my "creativity" either. And I think my frehsman calculus professor thought I was unhinged by the end of the semester. I should have kept thos...

Perhaps this should be a seperate thread, but has anyone else wondered if the children of tomorrow will ever have to flush a toilet by hand? Automated flushing is a good thing that conserves lots of water. There are days when the only manual flush I encounter is at home. As for the overall cleanlin...

Despite the prestige of occupying the top radioactive spot, the amount stored and radiated is nevertheless miniscule and simply does not compare to the level of radiation found elsewhere in our daily lives.

Eh, I'm eating them anyway. I like brazil nuts. :)

I'm not a guy, but I suspect it depends on how drunk someone is.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the filthiest men were also the booziest.
