I've tried it a few times and in my opinion it combines characterstics that I thought were practically impossible to combine. It has all the richness and the blast of a pratten typ...

I've never seen a Hammy rudall. Anybody else play one? How is the fingering? I confess I find his pratten a bit of a handful. Do these sound like rudalls, if I may ask that question. Ohhhh.... I consider myself very lucky to have tried out these flutes last Saturday. Spot on tuning, excellent workmanship and a embouchure cut which gives just the right blend of attack and smoothness. And Steffen is just starting! Scary....
