Re: Visiting London, any flute collections there that can be...

Porterhouse session starts at 17:30 these days, and although I don't think I know Andrew P I've never seen anyone down there with a R&R. But it's a friendly session, so come along for a tune anyway!

Here are a few pics. Sorry that the quality isn't fab - only had a camera phone to hand. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6364/ffpic2.jpg http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/132/ffpic1.jpg http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/7811/sweethartpic1.jpg Price-wise, I'm afraid that I haven't really been keepin...

Re: FS - Casey Burns Boxwood Folk Flute & Sweetheart in Cher

I'm not sure if too much time has elapsed for this to qualify as a "bump"... There wasn't much interest in these when I posted last July and in the event I decided to hang on to them. But I need to sell them now. so I'm trying again. Both are still in the same condition as they were, barri...

FS - Casey Burns Boxwood Folk Flute & Sweetheart in Cher

As per the title, two very nice flutes for sale. Reason for sale is pure economic pragmatism – last week I took possession of a beautiful new 4-key flute from Gilles Lehart, and I can’t justify retaining the collection! The Folk Flute is from the first boxwood batch that Casey made. It’s been loving...

FS: Sweetheart D flute in Cherry

I'm selling a Sweetheart D flute in Cherry wood. It's a nice player, very lightweight and in good condition bar a couple of small marks on the wood. I bought it last year from Cass (on C&F) for £150 plus postage and would be happy to get something close to that back again. For ease, I would pref...

FS: Kerry Songbird High D tunable

In perfect, as-new condition. It's a substantial aluminium whistle with excellent tuning slide. Fairly high back pressure and a sweet but chiffy tone that cuts through and isn't too loud. It's a nice session whistle that I wouldn't be selling were it not for the imminent arrival of my long-awaited A...

I was at the demo in Hammersmith last week, played them, and can confirm that: 1 They exist 2 They are very good indeed 3 They aren't available for sale yet, but will be soon. Sticking point seems to be ensuring that they have enough reliable suppliers for a handful of critical components (they are ...

Sorry, to clarify: it's the lower B.

Re tuning: against my ears! It's really very flat, but it's the only note which is significantly out (C sharp is a little too low, but tolerable).
