Re: FS Joe Kennedy D set

Here are some links to sound samples, recorded with my headset's microphone.

This one: the set is played by a very good player:

I've a keyless one; Rieux is the town, makers are Hervieux & Glet.

Good middle-range flute, in ebony, so heavy.

Fred uses (or at least used) mopane too, which gives very nice golden brown color, besides its mechanical properties.

I second the bass reg choice for the nice chords you get with the chanter and drones, and adding that the extended part over the left arm will give you the final piper's touch (if you get a "trad" reg).

Mine is made by Tom Aebi and is based upon a model of 1841. He effectively made some modifications to get a better tuning, and a resized some holes. He made it about 4 years ago, he changed again the model (bore) to improve the balance, and keep the 3rd octave easy to play... I like it very much, ni...

Stephane doesn't make any R&R flutes more, he only produces pratten flutes; that's the model he's making for S Egan.

More, he was able to find old cocus, and he began to use it these days.
Silver and cocus, with a new design for the kets.

Best regards

I think it's more a matter of stability: when lifted, the high D is more stable. Just my opinion, because I blow perhaps too strong.

Hi all I'm probably the guy who recommended abc nav. I had exactly the same problem, and it took a while before I could use it correctly. All that you have to know is that an abc file is a collection of abc tunes. The main toolbar is for abc FILES, and the small one is to add abc TUNES to your FILE....
