Illuminatus99...I can understand how exhausting your job must be. HOWEVER...when you got called to go to LA on an emergency business errand...it would only have taken maybe 3 minutes to send KDMARTINKY a fast email saying "Emergency trip out of town, sorry for the delay, will mail as soon as I...

audio-technica makes a clip-on condenser mic that works well for flute, just plug it into a pignose amp and you've got some amplification

I'm not sure if these are the same set people seem to be talking about, mine works fine. I can second that experience ... at least a bit. Early this year I had been in Edinburgh at Bagpipe Galore and - just for fun - tried one of the sets available there. It was playing fine in the lower octave and...

it a practice set made in the UK, bag, bellows and chanter, the bag is kind of a plastic material and the chanter is nylon. it's item GR2534 at hobgoblin music if you want to see a picture. barely used asking $250.

I've been using a palm for a while now, I grabbed every tune from thesession.org and loaded them on there in ABC format and then put an ABC reader/player on there, about once a month I go back and grab all the new tunes and put them on there too. surprisingly it doesn't take up too much memory.

I consider myself a professional player (as in, that's what I do for a living), here's my "professional" opinion. don't let anyone tell you what whistle is best for you, it's very much a matter of personal choice. if you play a chieftain and then play an overton and like the overton better...

I don't know where exactly, but I hear the Irish music scene is wicked. Look for banjo/guitar/bodhran player extraordinaire David Corey and his sister (can't remember her name) on pipes and fiddle. You'll find some amazing music, for sure. Chris Dave and Sarah are awesome musicians, it's a shame th...

lots of sessions around here: Fado: Great session for people starting out, tunes are generally played pretty slow and all comers are welcome. Molly McGuire's: Great session to listen to, but if you don't play their tunes the way they play them don't bother bringing an instrument. often when a new pe...
