I agree with all the above and after meeting him and having a lesson at the NWPA Tionol at Manchester would add what an unassuming and pleasant fellow he is as well-- a real gentleman. I look forward to more wonderful music in future!

By the way Allen, it's just occured to me that you are very close to the venue for this years Roving Tionol ( near Sedbergh ). Brian will be giving detailed instruction in all aspects of reedmaking and I couldn't recommend it more highly. The tuition from Dermot Hyde is truly outstanding, both in gr...

Will Dermot Hyde be teaching again? His pipe tuition was outstanding and so was the help he gave me on the Low whistle.

Howard Reeds

I was just speaking to Brian about the latest reeds and he has been sending them all over the place.I wonder how many chanters of differing makes they go in. I've tried them in six and they worked in five after slight further sanding (although these were on earlier, 2005, staples) so I must get my h...

Howard Reeds

I know Brian has been (further) developing the staples. I guess these reeds must be on the latest staples. I haven't had the chance to visit for a year or so now but I must make the time soon!

Wooff C# chanter

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. All I know is already on the listing. I bought it as a second chanter with a half set. I then sold the half set, hence no windcap. Chris Bailey did a first rate job of making one to match, with detailed photos of the mounts and measurements for the stopkey etc.

Wooff C# Chanter

As I state in the listing, I bought it from Ken McLeod ( from Northern Ireland,) in May 2004. I know nothing else other than Geoff reeded it for that sale. There are no tuning or playing issues. Thanks for your interest.

Hi David, I thought I should finally get round to explaining my disappearance from the Manchester meetings! I have managed to find a 400 yr old farmhouse in darkest mid Wales with 121/2 acres and a barn to renovate. It's been a long time hatching but is now real so the commute is now 130miles each w...

Congratulations. I used to use leather cigar cases ( cheap in Spain on cane foraging trips ) but now I use the cases supplied by Brian Howard. They are available mail order from www.howardmusic.co.uk either singley or in blocks of four.

Thanks for the link Sean. And good luck with this years Floating Tionol. I will really miss being with you for such a great time but I'll do my best to make it to a session. (Wait 'til you hear these drones!).
