Re: Best Flutes in Delrin or other Polymer

Hammy charges more for his Delrin flutes, the stuff is quite tricky to work, I have a Delrin Hammy, which is a very special flute, not just because it has an amazing sound, but it also has an amazing history, so not for sale, when I saw Hammy a few months back, he said that the long body section fle...

Re: Different sounds on Sindt whistles?(+Pat O'Riordan)

Thankyou both "whistle1000" and Derek Blackwell for all your help. This is sure an great discovering. I see some like the newer design better and some the older, flat one. I'm into the last, flat one, since it was the one I played the most and it fitted my way of playing/breath. So, if any...

Re: Louder Sindt? Various Windway Styles?

So ok, does anyone else have one of these? Any key? Are whistle1000 and I the only ones? Would love to hear other impressions. I had one, and miss it very much. I started a tread for just some days ago, asking if anyone had experienced different Sindt whistles. The one I had was an older version in...

Re: Different sounds on Sindt whistles?(+Pat O'Riordan)

Re: Different sounds on Sindt whistles?(+Pat O'Riordan)

I can't say that I've ever noticed a significant effect that different metal tubes have, but then again I've never played a sterling silver tube on a brass headed whistle. What differences do you experience? I know in the Boehm flute world I've played all-silver flutes and flutes with silver heads ...

Re: Tweaks: The Thread

Anyone knows if Chris Wall makes his own brass tubes for his SweetBrass Whistles? He makes an fantastic mouthpiece that sounds wonderful on his whistles. It's for sure one of my favorite. Don't know if it can be called a tweaked whistle?

Re: Tweaks: The Thread

I just filled up the hole beneath the flue on my Dixon DX005 Did that with epoxy-glue. Put some masking tape to cover the flue and the cutting edge, and dripped the epoxy with a small needle into the hole. Huge improvement. I am a starting tin-whistler, and now it's easier to get the 2e octave. Jus...

Re: Tweaks: The Thread

"Big Whistles" store has their own "Shush" whistles that are tweaked Generations and Feadóg. You also have Galeòns Tweaked Feadóg Whistles. O'Briain Improved Whistles too. Don't know if they are mentioned before, but here they are.:)

Different sounds on Sindt whistles?(+Pat O'Riordan)

After having 3 Sindt whistles in High D, I'm left with a silver tube and brass/delrin mouthpiece. I sold my first brass that I had ordered directly from him. Then I got an older, earlier version that, I think, sounded and felt better. In fact, it was like two different whistles, almost. I had an ord...

I never thought I would miss it so much with my Sindt, Burke, Copeland, Pat O'Riordan, but I do. Dont take me wrong, I love all ...
