Jerry,

All the best to you and your wife. You've been a great guy and the JerryTones you sent me are very precious. Give your wife a big hug from North Carolina and tell her that a positive attitude cures all.

Meilleures voeux,

Paul

Slow airs usually don't do much for the money flow (except stop it). The faster and more fancified you can play something, the more folks are going to pay attention. A great moneymaker for me is a set of Skylark's and Foxhunter (a la Tony Linnane).

Tunes that people know is also a good idea.

PVC pipe is the way to go. Don't worry about the caps sticking, get threaded lengths (for whatever reason, the lengths are called "nipples"...no resemblance to the real thing), just be sure not to screw them on too tightly. Wrap the whistle in a hankie and go to your local plumbing shop an...

Get a JerryTone whistle! They're like super Clarkes.

(The breathiness is supposed to be there. It's a tone characteristic that is typical of this kind of whistle. Some dig it, some don't. It's not as noticeable to the person listening to you play.)

Actually, a buddy of mine had a "political set", it consisted of the "Convention Reel", the "Contraversial Reel", and "The Old Bush". I've been a bit puzzled at "The Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre"...why the heck would you want to memorialize an afternoon...

I reworked the blade to maintain the angle but increase the length of the voicing window, and it now plays beautifully, though Hmm, Jerry...I might need to send you my latest Dixon, it's the new design with the brass-on-plastic tuning slide (vs. the old brass-on-brass slide). I have to say that I d...

Jerry was correct in recalling my dental floss repair. I had a couple of Gen Fs that both cracked up through the blade. What I did: 1) Take Glide dental floss (it's flat like a tape) and carefully wind it around the bottom of the headpiece. As you wind it on, pull it hard and it will pull the crack ...

Jerry H.,

I hope I don't seem rude, but since you're new here and all I thought you might not realize that there's a guy who already uses your avatar. You might want to think of getting a new one.

I think you just may be on to something there, Rando...   The anti-thief busking system could be as simple as using a Village Smithy from Serpent, anyone tries to make off with your breads all you hav...

Right on! The name has my second (or third by this point).

Good luck, Jerry! Keep us abreast of any new developments (insofar as you feel comfortable). ;)
