Thanks, Wanderer. We have all sorts of combos in the supermarkets here...with tomato and olive, olive, jalapeno peppers, lemon and coriander, caramelised onion, moroccan, etc etc. Quite an industry...But homemade's still best ;-)

That's probably the best place for a Samick anyways... :P  Yeah, I agree! :D Having a Samick is much better than being mandolin-less though. Don't knock a Samick. My 8yo son has a secondhand electroacoustic...hasn't damaged it yet, the fingerboard's narrow for his small hands and he loves to b...

Tune is definately played for Irish dancing in Brittany...I've also a bad MD recording from a Breton Irish session. Trouble is the French aren't very good with re...

Hi..anyone got the dots for these as played on Na Connerys first album? Have tried the usual sources and the tunes listed aren't these.

I recently saw Nickel Creek in concert, and they did a couple Celtic tunes, as well as mixed some Celtic flavoing into others....which, naturally, was incredible. Their arrangements of everything are simply awesome. DC Chris Thile is one of my son's heroes...at eight he's new to mandolin and loves ...

Dependable session/gig whistle for when your timber whistles pack in and won't tune due to the humidity/temp. Of late, blackwood has been untuneable several times. Odd times weatherwise.
