Yes, I agree. I play using 1 reed as much as 2 and 3. All reeds going the least.
The Binci pro reeds don't hurt either.

Hello, Thanks for the very nice Damien Mullane played reels! I play a custom made dry tuned D melodeon by the Cajun melodeon builder Marc Savoy. It was made specially for Irish music and is tuned with that in mind. It is a lovely instrument and a lot of fun to play. I also play a B/C accordion. Diff...

I'm considering just one key, doesn't really matter which, just to keep the flute from rolling off tables.

Hi Buttonbox,
I'm in the Mpls/St.Paul area and play B/C and a one row D box. So we ARE around playing quite happily in our kitchens ;-) Yes, Paddy does play on a C#/D from time to time.
All the best

Hello, You may also consider buying a keyless flute at first, (even without premeditated blocks attached) as post mounted keys can be added as needed in the future. They work just fine and as your playing style ergonomics settle in, your key placement postion can be precise. This fine tuning assumes...

Hello,
Copeland makes Sterling whistles in several keys including high and low D.
I own a Copeland Eb in sterling that, if I don't change my mind and will it to someone, I plan to be buried with.
All the best,
Brian

Ok, how about this...
I have a vintage supply of seasoned Cocus flute blanks I've been burning all winter. There's just enough to last till spring. Pleasant aroma as well.

All the best,
Flute AND Accordion player.
