Re: Oil The Bore of My Native American Flutes?

Thank you very much for your reply. That HighSpirits link is wonderful.....I am still reading through it all and learning a lot! You're welcome! Check out Ordell Borg's awesome tutorial videos on YouTube as well. There's a 6-video-series for beginners and a 10-video-series for intermediate players....

It does not change the sound.
It helps preventing cracks. It happens seldomly but it can happen in very dry environments.

You are using the correct term. The term to use to describe a breathy whistle is.... breathy! If there is a more technical term, I don't think I've heard anyone use it.
Okidoki! :)
Thank you very much, Sirchronique.

Re: Photos of your collection!

The Shaw is way more breathy (it's the "chiff" you guys are always talking about, right?). Time for this year's debate about chiff & sizzle ? :o Thanx for the link, Peter! Now it's clear. :) I misunderstood it as the "air noises" with each tone, which is different from whist...

Re: Photos of your collection!

That is actually a generation Bb (The Bb I believe I recommended to you, and you said would be too breathy! ), not an Eb. Glad you like it! Ooops! Typo!! Sorry! (I'll correct it right away....) Yes, it's a little breathy but still ok, I like it. Thanx for the recommendation! The Shaw is...

Re: Photos of your collection!

RECENT UPDATE: a few sales and purchases later.... My final(???) flute sortiment. (I can't promise, though, that there won't be more NAFs. I've absolutely fallen in love with them! Mesmerizing tone!!) Below the NAF stand (all High Spirits Flutes, USA) there are my present whistles I excercise with (...

Re: How do you deal with groupies?

Inner Light- your comment on the "frauleins" coming without T's and you needing a calendar for "time management" put a huge smile on my face. Of course Dee, like MRGuru, you were most probably playing guitar at the time and not whistle. Cheers, Cayden Ha, ha, I still do! It's my...

AWESOME SONG! Thanx for posting!

That's the kinda music I like on whistles. Slow, dreamy ballad. Gorgeous!

Mine come without T'shirts!
All I need is a calendar for proper time management!

This is a funny idea, schao-yang!
Shi shey!!

I'd like to know what "life dedicated to music" means. That would be a great name! :)
Please include the Chinese characters, in bigger script if possible (for details).

Re: Tony Dixon Traditional Low G Whistle

For me, as a beginner, the spacing is a PITA but maybe I just gotta get used to it. It feels very strange and uncomfortable in comparison to all other flutes and whistles I have. I constantly miss B3 or have it half covered only. It's a matter of practice, I'm sure. Yep. So just hang in there. It w...

Re: CP: Native American Flutes at The Irish Flute Store

Gorgeous flutes, especially the G and F#!

Up to now, I thought Wahajo in Germany be the only one to manufacture flutes with this high gloss finish and beautyful wood grains.

Wonderful!
