Re: Any thoughts on the new Setanta low whistle?

I just received a low D a week ago and am extremely impressed with it so far. It is solidly made with a tuning slide standard - three o-rings. The tone holes are comfortable with no unreasonable stretches (for my hands). The tone is amazing being mostly clear with some chiff. It has a very strong bo...

FS - Chieftain V4 tunable Low D whistle

This is a fine whistle, but not the right one for me. I got it second hand and it is in very good condition.

I am asking CAN$300 (approx US$250) which is what I paid for it. Shipping will be at cost.

Please PM me if you are interested or would like to see pictures.

Thanks,

Greg

I was thinking that a lot of the pictures looked really familiar until I remembered Oliver Seeler's Web Site The Universe Of Bagpipes featuring Sean Folsom at http://www.hotpipes.com/main.html

It is just the latest batch of folk who thought that playing these things would be an easy thing to learn or do and found to their dismay (after having sunk a small fortune into their top shelf full sets), that it is indeed not easy and thus are trying to recoup some of their hard earned losses. :w...

Pipes for Sale - Full Lambe Set in C

Hi, I have decided to sell my Lambe C full-set. It is working great, but I never play it and I would like it to go to a home where it would get at least a little use. It was made in the early 1980's and is fully reeded and going well. It is made of rosewood and brass. there are no keys on the chante...

There was a really cool thing like this at the BBC Dr. Who site a while ago. You got to play around with all the sounds of the Dr. Who theme. I just looked for it, but it looks like it has been taken off.

I don't remember who told me this, they had a conversation with Tommy once, and mentioned that the ivories on Tommy's set looked very old and cracked. Tommy recounted how he had come into the house to find that the wife had iust put the pipes on the fire. I'm lucky that we have natural gas fireplac...
