Hi Casey,
One of your blackwood folk flutes arrived at my place yesterday. It was very hard to follow your instructions and not play the flute too much at the start, because she sounds beautiful. Thank you for my flute. Add another very satisfied customer to the throng.
Sincerely,
Matt

Ethnic Wind Copper Dream
My Copper Dream from Nick at Ethnic Wind finally arrived. Took a while to get down here, but as you all know from his post a couple of weeks back his little girl has been having a very difficult time, you can't control what life throws at you. Well first impressions of this whistle. First thought wa...

Fairy Queen, my heart goes out to you, and a celebration of life is always the best way to go.
JTC111 you are a gentleman and a scholar. Downloading it and then sending it to her should work, being in Australia as well I've had this issue.

Re: Saxophone players: does sax hurt flute embouchure
I used to play both quite regularly in a band, never found that one affected the other. I learnt the flute first, I'm wondering if order of learning affects it at all? Any ideas anyone?

Re: New Tin Whistler
Wood winds have always been my thing. I've tried strings and brass, just didn't get it. But hand me a woodwind... Never had an ocarina though, got to get myself one.

Though it was my left hand. That is a photo from when I played captain Hook in Peter Pan. We are a sword fighting troupe, so it was even more violent than the original, but a lot of fun. I love playing the bad guy.

Re: Beware of cheap ebay flutes!
Hi All, I'm a newbie who just recently made my debut on the whistle forum. Wish my missus had read all this before she bought a cheap ebay flute for me for xmas. My fault for not doing my research and specifically stating what I wanted. Having played a Boehm flute for a good many years, I was able t...

Re: Looking for advice
Hi Cubitt, I don't have any advice on the flute but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck. My dad has the same condition, and I understand how much it can change your life. So best of luck, hang in there, there is now a fair bit of research happening in this area.

Sigung, I hope it all gets fixed up to your satisfaction. I recently ordered one of Nick's Copper dreams, I'm hoping I will not have the same issue. I'll let everyone know how it goes. From those previous posts though, it seems he is very customer oriented and will help you.

Re: Newbie saying Hi!
Thanks Jiminos, that's good confirmation I'm on the right trail. I got to say this forum has been an invaluable source of infor for me, though I wish I had come across it before my missus bought that flute off ebay. Might have to do a post on it over on the flute forum. Back to whistles. Can't wait ...

Re: Newbie saying Hi!
Hi Maki, the tipple flutes do have a very good rep, though I was thinknig of getting one of Casey Burns folk flute.
Mutepointe, I don't think I could have played it for 5 years, a year or two maybe, it would haqve been an interesting experience, but I was too busy becoming a palaeontologist.
