I had the same experience. The tone was charming - a lame word, but I was, well, charmed. It was sweetly bird-like, you could say. I thought the high F and hornpipes made a particularly good if surprising fit.

Re: question: nutmeg
First thing that came to mind was a rotary grater. I don't know if any, all or none of them are built to take on nutmegs, but here's an OXO (always a good choice especially for ergonomics): https://www.webstaurantstore.com/grater-rotary-good-grips-w-seal-for-storage/29711316100.html?utm_source=googl...

Sent you a pm As a new member, he probably can't send or receive PMs. Four posts, so he should be able to do so. Members usually receive full permissions after the first 3 Admin-approved posts. Which isn't to say that accounts don't sometimes fall through the cracks, but it's rare. I would say send...

Or here (the most interesting) if it doesn't violate forum rules. We have regulatory guidelines about makers presenting their products on C&F. Please see https://forums.chiffandfipple.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=84192 , entry 7. If you have further questions, feel free to contact either Ben or ...

Re: Wassup with connecting to C&F
I was surprised to realize how much time I devote to the Board. I didn't think it was all that much, but then while it was down I found myself with a good amount of unexpected free time on my hands.

Re: Pipe Forum Running
Happy to see forum up and running again. Missed it when it was down. Didn't take that long to get sorted. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Took about a week, actually. Turns out our host is unable to provide the service C&F needs (which to our minds isn't all that much). An independent individual fixed...

Re: Wassup with connecting to C&F
it must not have been fun... I was planning for my retirement. Hold the Margaritas... Dale has the firsthand knowledge because he personally dealt with the matter, but suffice it to say that C&F has found our host wanting, and no question. An independent party fixed the issue at a ridiculously ...

Re: Here's something that you can spend a ton of money on for no good reason
The holes underneath do indeed appear to be square as well. It likely makes little difference to the sound produced and will be about visual aesthetics ... Apparently the design does indeed incorporate square toneholes. Mr. Lopatin confirms this: https://squareoneflutes.com/about/ ... but hasn't to...

Considering that the open-hole keys have round holes, I have difficulty seeing the point.

This is not entirely true: He also has a history of bad behavior on this forum, including bad buy/sell transactions with forum members. As well as repeatedly posting here under the guise of being someone else. Ah, right: that, too. And shills. Suffice it to say he repeatedly proved unamenable in nu...

Re: Low Whistle Player
The crux of the controversy has only to do with how he presents himself as a expert in Irish Trad, and nothing else. If you're not so interested in the real deal and you like his music, that's fine, but his treatment of well-known Trad tunes and airs suggest that his claim to expertise is spurious. ...

Once someone has posted after you, or your post times out after 72 hours, the delete function stops. In which case, only a mod can do that for you.David Cooper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:28 pm Sorry about that - the edit function's creating new posts instead of just editing, and I can't find a delete.
